I’m not a big fan of Yankee candles anymore. I’ve had two of the big glass jar explode on me while lit. It’s a little scary there’s a loud pop and then glass flying.

That’s what you get for burning it witb less than 1/4in of wax at the bottom, or for using a candle warmer plate.

I saw them in stores and was tempted to buy one .. the scents were so good. I was waiting for them to come back on the shelves but i guess they never will. Too bad. I hope they come out with the same scents in their normal packaging

    Scary!!!! 😬

I only buy the tarts and the electric warmers for this reason.

  6. Pauline

Stopped buying candles. Prefer using diffusers with essential oils.

  7. Leslie Ramey

Ooo, that’s too bad! These looked like they burned so pretty. Hope they get them worked out.

Don’t have the candles anymore nor the receipt…hmm if they’ll do anything? Lol

Is you no longer have the candle then it’s not an issue. The issue lies within if you have the candle to burn then it could be a potential risk. Now if you have them as a gift then that person can take it, explain the recall and they should EXCHANGE for another candle for them. They do this anyway if you get a scent that you don’t like without receipt.

I’ve had this very same thing happen to me before with other bands of candles. I learned that this is VERY likely to happen with candles thay have multiple wicks or wicks that are not properly centered and too close the the glass. When the flame is too close to the glass it get very hot and after a while causes the glass crack and can even send shards flying almost like a small explosion and hot wax to leak all over. I always check candles now before I buy them to make sure the wicks are nice and centered and that they don’t move/shift around which can happen when they are completely melted to liquid form and/or down to the last few inches of wax. The heat allows the metal disk that keeps the wick in place to come loose and shift around. If your wick has shifted, put out the flame and carefully move it back into the center and let it cool to solid form once again before using again.
