About these oils…

Lavender essential oil is known for its beneficial properties, including promoting calm, relaxation, and being a nervous tension reliever. It can also be added to a carrier oil to help reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles and help soothe alterations in skin integrity, such as during sun exposure or a minor cooking burn.

Lemon is one of the most easily recognized oils because of its refreshing, energizing and uplifting scent. It can help support a healthy immune system and is also frequently added to spray cleaners.

Has anyone used these? How do they compare to DoTerra?

    • ppp

PT is my favourite company. Knowledgeable employees, excellent quality, excellent pricing.

Thanks for posting this, I had to jump on this since I will buy anything that claims to help reduce the appearance of scars :). A dog bit my 4yo in the face 6 months ago, so I will try anything to reduce his scars, if anyone knows about other products that might work, please let me know I will try it! πŸ™‚

My family uses Porters Liniment Salve for scars and abrasions. It doesn’t smell the best but we have had very good results.

Elivar–important to keep sunscreen on the scar!

    • maierwalford

I advise my patients to gently massage the scar with your favorite lotion or oil (very small amount, you want to actually stay on the scar and move it) at least 3 times a day for three minutes. Also, Mederma makes a scar pad that really works well. You can buy it at Target, Walgreens, etc… Also, sunscreen every day for the first year.

    • Elivar

Thanks Karen, Julie and Maierwalford for the advise, I truly appreciate it!

You can also try coconut oil. That helped me when I had knee surgery with stitches.

You’re welcome! So sorry to hear about that!

Try Honest Co’s Healing Balm. This is my referral link if you do decide to order I would appreciate it https://www.honest.com/refer/1097354
My mom had thyroid cancer and had surgery in May. Her scar is healing amazingly well. She was also having to use a steroid cream for what she was told was contact dermatitis, under her nose. Healing balm has gotten rid of it entirely! This is stuff is a miracle. I use it for all of my kids on any boo boos and it is amazing! Please give it a try! They even have a trial pack but we use so much of the HB that the sample wasn’t enough! You can email me if you have any questions too! formyjunk1234@gmail.com
      Best wishes!!

My reconstructive (plastic) surgeon recommends silicone for scars. It’s the only thing proven to reduce scarring. Most doctors do not recommend Mederma. It’s snake oil. According to the directions, silicone must be worn at least 12 hours per day to be effective. I use silicone patches and tape and wear it 24 hours a day. You have to use it for ~4 months. I shower with it on. Once per week I remove the tape and wash it with a mild soap. Dry it gently with a non-shedding towel. Walmart sells ScarAway (beige colored) at a good price. CVS sells it along with their store brand which is cheaper. I am using patches of clear Neosil that I purchased on Ebay for less than ScarAway. I am also using Mepitac tape (beige) from Ebay for long scars that wrap around my legs. Both can be purchased on Amazon or in medical supply stores as well. There is also a liquid silicone product that I have not tried. Perhaps that would be best for a face during the day and then use a patch over it when home for the night. Scars take about year to heal, so the sooner you jump on it with the silicone the better the results. BTW, silicone can be used for keloid scars and it can be used years after the scar was created.

Vitamin e oil helps take the red out of scars. My daughter fell when she was litle and cut her nose open to the bone. Lavender and vitamin e did wonders! You can barely see it. No one notices unless we tell them.

    • Elivar

Thank you again for all the advice, I am trying everything I can to help my little guy heal, I know he will always have scars, but I will not give up! πŸ™‚ and will continue to massage and use silicone and scar creams and sun screen and everything I can to help minimize the scar.

I can’t thank Hip2Save enough for introducing me to this company πŸ’š
These oils DO compare to D and YL. I find myself using their products more than other brands I own.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome!

  4. jennifer

I ordered a couple for my daughter to go with the scented oil necklace I got her from here a while back. She is about to have a baby so I am hoping the lavender will relax them both.

  5. Rachel

Anyone know if these two oils are safe to diffuse around a 1 1/2 year old? Thanks!

    • Queenmum

It depends on the oil. Lavender is the only oil I diffuse around little ones. Do research online from trusted sources. Pets can be sensitive to oils as well.

    • Becky

The hippy homemaker has a wonderful post about safety for children. You can google it

    • Ana

Essential oils should never be diffused or used topically near children under the age of 2.

  6. Kisha

It says lemon is out of stock. πŸ™

    • Jennine

I just ordered. Add the lavender to your cart. Type in the promo and it will be automatically added. 😊

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hmm, I am still finding it to automatically apply to my cart when I add the Lavender. Hope this helps!

  7. I DeLat

it’s coming up as $10.95 not $6 something

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How strange, I am still grabbing the 10ml bottles of Lavender and Lemon together for $6.49. Are you on a mobile device? If not, maybe try it in a different browser. Hope this helps!

  8. Tan
