Feel free to pass on the Bjorn. It’s not comfortable for mom/dad to wear or for baby’s hips. There are much better options!

    • Milano14

I would pass on the Bjorn as well. In the Bjorn the baby is essentially hanging and there is no support from the hip to the knee joint. In other carriers, where the baby is essentially sitting in the pocket created by the carrier, the thigh is supported. The hip is not in a hanging position, instead it’s supported too.

    • Jess

Absolutely agree. The seat should be wider so baby’s hips are supported.

I totally agree! Baby’s legs should always be in a “froggy” position (knees up & out) as to not place any strain on their delicate hips. I loved my Tula & it is super comfortable for the wearer & baby is in the correct position for babywearing. Just my 2 cents coming from a mom of 4 & plenty of experience (plus I’m old lol).
Do yourself & your lil nugget a favor & stay away from carriers often referred to as “crotch danglers”.

I borrowed a baby bjorn from my bestie when I had small kids. I loved it. I felt the kids were safe & I could use my hands.

Oh awesome! Happy to hear how well it worked for you! Thanks for sharing!

    • dblD-amber

Agreed. This is my goto when running quick errands. And I use the erogbaby on long walks. I tend to prefer the born better

  3. NN

We were happy using the Baby Bjorn. I’ve read about it and was comfortable that it wouldn’t affect baby’s hips.

To me it seems to fit my babies just fine! I don’t see how a young child straddling a persons mid section is better on their hips! The child looks like they are doing a split unless the person is 100lbs or less. I have used a Moby wrap when my children were infants but prefer this carrier when they are a little older since it is very secure.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing your experience with this carrier Amy! Good to know!

  5. Faye

We LOVED our Bjorn for both my girls. I loved how it fit on me 5’6 160lbs at the time. And my girls were always content being carried in it. It’s the only piece of baby gear I’ve held onto for if and when I get to watch any friends babies for a day or two.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Thanks for the great review!

  6. Cheryl

The bjorn isn’t a comfortable carrier long term because all of the weight is hanging from the adults shoulders. It also isn’t very ergonomic for either the wearer or baby. Carriers like the lillebaby or ergo 360 are comfier long term options and are worth the extra money in my opinion.

    • Elle

100% agree with you Cheryl. If someone out there is trying to decide between this type of carrier or one of the more ergonomic ones, do yourself a favor and DON”T buy this one. I wouldn’t get this even if it was free. I had a Bjorn and it was extremely uncomfortable and would put my back out after wearing it five minutes.

  7. Sara

My 8 month old loves this carrier out of any others we’ve tried. He’s 20lbs and it’s getting uncomfortable for me to wear him longer than a couple of hours now but for the most part, I like it and we use it almost every day out running errands.
