It’s not. With the email coupon you don’t have to trade your current phone in. So if your phone is worth abythibg it would be additional to the 250 off or the Best Buy guy suggested private selling for more money

By saying you can’t do “both” I’m referring to the 30+ comments above of everyone thinking they get $250 in trade in plus an email coupon worth an additional $250= $500 total off of a new iPhone 7. You are correct, you can trade in or not trade in, but you can’t get double $250 gift cards back from Best Buy.

You must buy or lease the iPhone 7 in order for you to get in on the deal.
So here is the deal with the coupon!! I got through after holding forever. With the coupon you don’t have to trade your old phone in. With the online promotion you have to have a 5s or newer phone to trade in to get the 250! So the guy told me to get the 250 off and then private sell my 5s since I could get around 200 for it instead of the additional 70 they would give me for it. Hope this helps.
