Has anyone tried this. Does the food really taste fried? Thanks

    • krista

My mom has one. My brief experience with it is that if you do things like French fries, tater tots, etc, this is a healthier option than frying them and tastier than using an oven because they allow the air to move around the food rather than how it works on a cookie sheet. I didn’t try making your own chips or anything like that in it. It basically seems to be a nice little convection oven. I think some families would get a lot of use out of it while others wouldn’t. Just depends on your eating habits.

i got the same one from kohls black friday deal and just loved it i have so far tried french fries, sweet potato fries, yam fry, chicken, salmon fry and some indian cuisine as well and loved it to the core since me and my husband both avoid anything deep fried and greasyy soo this is the best option.

Hi Rose, thanks for your recommendation. Do you still remember how much was the price for that air fryer? TIA

        • Rose

it was $69.99 plus applied 15% and got $20 mail in rebate plus $15 kohls cash

I used it once and returned it. It tastes good but makes very small amounts and takes as long as an oven.

I agree. I had one also and did return it. I really didn’t see much difference from the air fryer or the oven and as you stated it takes just as long as an oven. It also depends on how the model that you get it can take up alot of space on your counter top. Its also a little noisy.

Darn! Sorry to hear you were not pleased with how long and how much it could cook. Thanks for the honest review!

Thanks for the reviews since I have been contemplating getting one, not quite as good as I thought and I tend to bake my French fries in the oven anyway, plus I have heavy eaters.

I’m wondering how this one compares to the one that Walmart had for sale last week.

I have this model and love it. Purchased it from Kohls on Black Friday. So far I have tried french fries, chicken, fried clams. It recommends using about 1/2 of the time that is called for on your package/recipe and lowering the temperature by 50 degrees. Don’t overload the basket or the middle will not cook properly. It certainly has been a time saver and fun to use. My chicken has never been so crispy and moist before. The whole family loves it better than the way I used to bake chicken.

I ordered one for xmas as a gift & did not get my rebate as of yet.Does anyone know how long that takes? I sent it in a week or two prior to xmas! Thxs!

  8. Linda

I agree that it’s small and therefore takes forever to feed a family. We tried french fries and it took a long time to make a batch for a family. Yes, it is much more healthy than frying. Just takes a lot longer due to small appliance tray.
