What are people’s thoughts on getting items on the baby registry that are not at the store they registered for. For example, an item at Babies R us is $49 and Amazon is $29, I would rather buy at Amazon, but now I risk it not being removed from the registry and two people buying it. Plus if its bought at amazon, they wouldn’t be able to return it easily. Also going to baby showers, I hear people get mad if you buy something and don’t indicate it on the registry. Thoughts?

Amazon is pretty easy to return things but I say risk it and if they get 2 then they could return the one from their registry.

I have a friend who does this all the time. She calls the store it’s registered with and tells them she forgot to mark it on their registry. It works 90% of the time for her. Maybe try that?

Target’s registry allows the person to indicate if an item was purchased elsewhere while still checking it off the list.

I saw that!! I hope more store do that! Babies R Us does not 🙁

Thanks for your responses! i think I will go for it!

I called the mother to be and just asked her to take the item off the registry. She knows I’m a deal seeker and will get more this way! 🙂
