I have Verizon…wonder if this includes everything (besides tax ect)…hope it’s not this plus the “$20 smart phone fee”….

    • Nina Shelton

You do have to pay a smart phone fee.

  2. VFree

Verizon’s service has always been so reliable. It is great to see them moving in this direction .

  3. Kimmy

$80 Single line or $45 each if you have 4 lines. Ouch ill stick with my old plan.

    • april

No, $80 for tablet plus cell. $45 is just cell.

      • Julia L.

I do not see where you are finding this. The press release says $80 for one phone, $45 for four phones.

        • Brandon

I think it is 80 for the 1st line and 40 per line for the next 4

          • Lauren

It is $80 for the service plus $45 per phone/line, but if 4 people share unlimited for $65 each that’s less than I pay for 6GB. My current plan is $60 for service plus $20 per phone/line.

            • Brandon

Available Unlimited Plans w/ Auto Pay
              1-Line: $80/month
              2-Lines: $70/line
              3-Lines: $54/line
              4-Lines: $45/line

I wonder will I still be able to use my employee discount

    • Queenjen87

I’ve got my employer discount as well. Im due for an upgrade, so once we see what this plan will look like, I’ll have to do some serious math.

    • Carrie

A couple of my friends that work for vzw posted on their fb tonight that this new plan isnt eligible for employee discounts.

    • Nina Shelton

Employee discount does not apply to unlimited, but it did apply to the smart phone fee for my husband.

  5. Cinamom

This is ONLY an introductory offer, it does NOT state for how long you will be paying this price before it goes up & then you are stuck with a contract AND a higher price! We have had Verizon for at least 15 years & you REALLY have to read the small print. We have been grandfathered into our account, but the cheapest I have seen out there for a cell phone service is “STRAIGHT TALK” at Walmart. You can use your own phone with no contracts & a lot of our friends have said they have had no complaints with them.

    • Kris

I was grandfathered in as well until 2015 when they were going to double the cost of the unlimited data from $30 to $60 on every line I had. Went from paying $190 for 2 lines before the price jump to tmobile 4 lines unlimited everything $160 a month. Way better deals out there.

  6. Justin

I’ll stick with t mobile. Unlimited everything plus hotspot for my wife and myself for $100 total.

  7. Kathy

Get now that I have been paying over $200 for 2 yrs now and finally was able to cancel. I can’t fall for another no contract but can’t cancel again. Alway read the terms and conditions on deals.

  8. Ktenny

Verizon is shady. Only have couple carriers to choose from where I live. No choice but Verizon. So many extra fees when I got my new iPhone last year. They wouldn’t even transfer my info from my android to iPhone without an additional $10 charge. They asked if I wanted to transfer info and I said yes so they started doing so and while that was being done they printed out my bill and I seen the charge and said I thought it was free to transfer….you never said you were charging! He said no there’s a $9.99 fee for it. I told him I was not paying for that cuz I could do it myself. He got the manager over and they pulled the plug and messed my phone all up plus gave me grief for canceling that. Not to mention I was there for over an hour cuz the guy had no idea what he was doing. Disappointing to say the least. Been with them for so many years too.

  9. Samantha

I go with page plus cellular. They use Verizon towers but significantly cheaper! I still use my Verizon iPhone and pay $40 a month total for 3Gb data and unlimited talk and text. My phone for signal in top left corner literally says Verizon and I pay half the price, no contract.

  10. katya

We are using total wireless – 3 lines -89$total.
We do have to share 5GBor 10GB of data , not sure. Nowdays wifi is everywhere anyways.
They are owned by tracphone and use the same towers as verizon , tracphone, straightalk

  11. lily

I use virgin mobile. $35 5 gb of data and unlimited talk and text. I never exceed 1 gb of data and im constantly on my phone. Never understood why people need more gb than that

    • Brandon

      Watch tv or movies

    • LeAnne

When you live in the country, and WiFi or Internet isn’t offered, the phones are our only source of internet. We’re stuck with verizon. However, I’ve had much more success talking to their customer service reps over the phone than in store. Particularly the sales reps. We needed to add 2 smartphones last year. I got them to do a BOGO on the Samsung s7 and the other phone for 5 bucks a month and they threw in 6gb data for free. It never hurts to ask or negotiate.

      • Kristy

We live in the country where internet is outrageous ($100/month) and super slow. My hubby and I have 40 gb of data with AT&T and use almost all of it every month.

    • maggie

Music streaming subscriptions like GooglePlay use a lot of data too. DH has one and uses triple the data I do, because he’s often streaming in the car where there’s no wifi.

The future of mobile is DATA. More apps, more services, more subscriptions.

  12. Liveinthesticks

Another vote for Page Plus Cellular. You get Verizon coverage, less than half the price. No overage, no surprises. Used them for years.

  13. Jenn

I just had a chat session with Verizon and employee discounts are NOT eligible for the unlimited data plan. To switch my plan, for two people, would be $33.17 more expensive than my current plan. I’m not switching to unlimited. For two people I’m currently paying $153.19 a month. With the new plan, it would be $186.36.

    • Lisa

I agree, Jenn. I’ve been grandfathered in for a few years and they always “suggest” I can save money, but it is funny, like you, it would cost me more and I would get less. I have a 40 GB plan and I don’t even think they offer that anymore!! I do like the reliability of Verizon, so kind of a double edged sword.

  14. Sharon

Verizon is outrageous! I’d never pay that for a phone. I <3 Sprint. I know people talk crap about them all the time….works for us just fine….and money in my pocket! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Nanette

I just tried looking to see what the price difference would be from my plan now to the unlimited but keep getting, “There was an error with one of our systems and we’re working on it now. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again in a few minutes.”
But after reading the comments and employee discounts are not eligible for the unlimited plan. I think I’ll stick to what I have.

    • Nanette

Ok I finally was able to get in. I have 8 gigs now and usually have 3+ gigs rolled over ever month. The unlimited plan would be $50 more a month. That’s a BIG nope LOL

  16. Joel Meulenberg

If youโ€™re into comparing, I built a cell plan cost calculator tool to help find cheap plans based on usage. I added the new Verizon Unlimited plan to it. You can use it at https://SiftSwift.com/en-us/cell-phone-plans/

The calculator includes plans from 35 carriers to compare against.

    • Nanette

That’s a wonderful idea but where I live the only service that’s not spotty is Verizon.

  17. StacyKay

I switched to unlimited and saved 4$ a month! Lol we live in the country and Verizon is our only Internet. We had the 30bg plan. Other carriers just get horrible signal out here where I live so Im stuck for now.

    • Mel

One caution is the unlimited plan is good for first 22gb. After that, they could throttle you using 3G or something like that. I don’t know how that would be in all areas.

      • M

They give you 22GB each line to use on a multi phone plane before they start to throttle your data if the lines are congestion. So if your area is not you would not even see a difference on your data speed. technically you would be receiving 44 gb to start every month.

  18. Tina

If you don’t already have Verizon and you can switch and trade in your phone for an iPhone 7 for free. Not all phones are eligible but it’s a good deal for those that can do it, considering carriers don’t do 2 years contracts anymore (looking at you sprint) and it costs an arm and a leg to get a new phone
