mailer-couponALERT – Those Mailer Coupons Can Be Valuable!

I was chatting with my sis yesterday, and doing a little deal bragging (yes, this may happen more than I care to admit, but I get SO excited about the deals and just can’t help myself!). I was telling her about the completely FREE sterling silver ring I scored by taking advantage of a coupon that I’d received in the mail. She proceeded to tell me that she often doesn’t even glance at those mailer coupons and just throws them in the trash! WHAT?! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Do NOT throw away mailer coupons without first looking at them!

Now in some cases, yes, a mailer coupon may end up going in the garbage, but I would definitely take the time to look at it first, read the fine print etc. BEFORE throwing in the trash.

A week or so ago, I received a HELZBERG Diamonds $50 off a purchase of $50 or more coupon . I was a bit skeptical since the coupon did exclude sale items and a few other things. I was thinking that they wouldn’t have anything priced right around the $50 mark without being on sale… but I was SO wrong!

I surprisingly spotted various bracelets and rings priced around $50, so basically FREE after the coupon. Crazy, right?! I had a great experience, and the sales associate didn’t give me a hard time at all.

Due to that great experience, I will likely head back there again when I’m shopping for jewelry! So even though I snagged something for free, that mailer coupon has turned me into a customer. A total WIN-WIN in my book!

I’d love to here if you’ve gotten a HOT deal by taking advantage of a mailer coupon!

Absolutely!! I got 2 pair of pearl earrings, one for me and one for my Mom…absolutely FREE!! So excited to share something lovely with her. Be sure to keep an eye out for these coupons; they’re a wonderful way to treat yourself of someone else to something beautiful!

I never throw out my mailers either. Recently, I got a free bracelet from a local jeweler, 2 free bundt cakes and a free small pizza & side all with no purchase necessary!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

YIKES! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Thanks for the heads up – just fixed the pic.

Last Mother’s Day, I received a similar Helzberg coupon and used it to get a FREE Alex and Ani-type sterling silver bracelet that says Mother and Daughter, Always and Forever. I also got a free pair of pearl earrings from Helzberg before, too, from a mailer. They are so great there!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay!! That’s awesome to hear! I’m glad that you’ve had such a great experience shopping there too.

About a year ago, I received mailer coupons from the department store Carson Pirie Scott. I’m not sure I have ever shopped there before, and I don’t know why I was chosen to receive the coupons. The coupons were $50 off $50 clothing, $35 off $35 accessories, and $15 off $15 cosmetics. Too good to be true? Nope! I got two sweaters, six pairs of socks, and a Clinique lipstick for less than $2.

    • Misty

      Wow! I’m impressed!

  6. Crystle

Helzberg is great! We have gotten 3 necklaces and a couple bracelets with a mailer for free gift. Also have gotten too many to count mailers for money off too. Hubby just gave our daughter an infinity necklace that was a free gift for v-day.

  7. Thinn

How do you get these mailer coupons?

    • errrrrrr

If you are a GEICO customer, GEICO mails out periodic updated/newsletter-type magazines. The Helzberg coupon is found in the magazine. I believe GEICO has some kind of affiliation with Helzberg.

      • Sarah

I’m a long time Geico customer and I have never gotten any type of mailer from them! Hmmm…I’m going to have to look in to this๐Ÿค”

      • Stephanie

Great to know! I don’t think I have ever opened one of these! Better believe I’m checking it front to back next time!

      • Thinn

        Thanks you!

    • Sonya

Mine is always for a free necklace for my anniversary, Valentine’s Day and maybe Mother’s Day. I don’t remember. But I think I am on a mailing list from buying our wedding rings there, but always thought if you bought something there, you got on a list. I just picked up my free necklace for Valentine’s Day on Valentine’s. I have never seen the $50 of $50 coupon, usually just $50 off $150 or something like that. Why not free jewelry, if I don’t want it, great gifts for others.

Last year i received one as well and got me a heart shape necklace. Hope i get one soon.

  9. nem3

Omg this is so amazing!!! Thanks!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

Oh darn, I had that jewelry store coupon and I forgot to go use it. They aren’t too close to me so it would have been a special trip. The mailer actually came to my husband’s step mom. She passed away and we are getting her mail forwarded here. Mostly catalogs I don’t want but I do check to see if she gets any coupons I can use.

  11. Tarri

I love Helzberg, I got a coupon a couple times for $100 off a $100 purchase. I also get free coupons for free jewelry- necklaces, earrings, bracelets, most recent one was for Valentines.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Thanks for sharing Tarri!

  12. Jenny

    How do you get mailers?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Looks like you can sign up on their website. Hope that helps!

My husband bought my wedding rings from Helzberg (on their credit card) and since then we get valuable coupons several times a year for free jewelry or dollars off. My husband jokes that one day they’ll stop sending the coupons to us (“when they figure us out”, he says), but until then I’ll enjoy getting the jewelry for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, out anniversary, etc. ๐Ÿ˜

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aww, how sweet! Glad to hear you have enjoyed their offers as well! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. Bev

Jenny, i just went to their website and signed up .

Tried to order a wedding ring for my husband from this place years ago. He wanted something specific, so we sat down with a salesperson and they showed us a catalog. They had what we wanted, but they would have to special order it. We left, on the fence about it; but decided to purchase it a day later. We called and talked to the salesperson again, and they said they would order it. They were supposed to call back with the order info, and never did. Needless to say, we didn’t buy his wedding ring there. Their own fault. We were rather upset, and do not shop at this place for Jewelry. We just go to Kays.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh bummer ๐Ÿ™ Sorry to hear about that Vicki! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

    • SJ

I had the WORST experience with Kay’s…when my husband and I were shopping for my engagement ring, we were at the sizing stage of ordering my ring. I have fat fingers (size 11) and the associate told us it was an extra $150 per size after a 10. I commented how no other store had that policy. She turned to my husband and actually says “you may want to wait a few months until she loses some weight so you can buy a smaller size ring.” It’s took every ounce of me not to punch that lady. We left immediately and went to a local store and were NOT charged extra for a larger ring.

      • Amy J

Are you serious???? I am so disgusted by what I just read in your comment.I would have written a nasty letter to corporate to let them know how their sales person is treating customers. I’m proud of you for keeping your composure and getting the h*ll out of that store!!

        • V

SJ, I am so sorry to hear about your experience at Kays. I can definately relate! Sounds a lot like my experience at a wedding gown store called Demetriosis. I am a plus size gal (size 20 at the time), and went in to look around. The sales lady comes up to me and says “Oh honey, we don’t carry things in your size.” I just turned around and immediately left, saving my tears for outside.

          • rama revan

Really?!!! You can still write to their headquarters (or complain to the owners) about their shabby treatment during your special occasion! I’m furious just reading this!

      • Suzanne H

I too am a plus size gal. I hate how so many of us are made to feel terrible about ourselves when getting engaged/married. It’s supposed to be such an exciting time!

I have received a set of coupons from Elder-Beerman 3 times in the last year– $50 off $50 apparel, $35 off $35 accessories and $15 off $15 cosmetics. I have no idea when or why they send them, but fingers crossed they keep coming!!

    • Tiphanie

Our elder- beerman store sends out good coupons (i.e.-$10 off $25 or 20% off) but seriously no matter what you try to use it on in store, the associates always say, I’m sorry. You can’t use this coupon on this item. It is excluded- (even if it isn’t! ) sometimes I want to walk in that store and ask someone to show me something I can use the coupon on. Lol- I bet they would be hard-pressed to find anything themselves – so needless to say, I rarely shop there

  17. Ann L

I got this exact coupon last month. Went to use it this week and the guy wouldn’t let me get a necklace. He acted like the coupon wasnt good enough or something..told me it wouldnt work. And he didn’t even try it to see. I was confused but settled on a bracelet. Which I really don’t care for, it makes my arm itch. And the weird part is the necklace i wanted and bracelet were both the same price. I’ve decided I think I’m going to go back this weekend and try to exchange the bracelet for something else. And I’m only going to talk to another associate not him ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

  18. Tina

Curious how you got free ring? Most of them were $49.99 and they said item had to be $50 or over to use?

  19. Lauren

How and what do I do with the coupons . Iโ€™m totally lost here
