I have a really hard time using printed coupons at Target. If they don’t scan they won’t take them. Good deal but know I won’t be able to get.

Just check out at the guest service register lol That’s the way to do it if you arent buying a lot of things.

      • Mina

Lol, that’s what I do too. They never work for me at the regular cash registers but always seem to work fine at guest service.

    • Cassandane

Try cleaning your printer heads and running a print adjustment test page. I do if I have been printing a lot as it starts to print a little fuzzy after a while.

Same thing happened to me today. The coupons beeped so I told the manager that perhaps it was because they were to be adjusted down because of the gift card. he said he can only do two. I said i wanted all four. I told him it was legit because of the H2S site and that they work with the Today Show (because he tried to tell me it was because it was a third party coupon and not Target). So he said that people are making fraudulent coupons and Target wont allow the printed ones anymore. Needless to say … he scanned it and it beeped and then he hit something and it took $1.74 off. So I would presume that was why it beeped. So then I did the mascara in a separate transaction and those coupons worked fine. Hmmmm very disappointing when a manager doesnt even know how things work and tells me something that isnt true. Its a shame too because I love Target and that manager was the nice gentlemen the other day that helped me find the soap that was on cartwheel.

      Woohoo! You’re so welcome! 🙂

Is that a new target coupon policy? Because I have noticed that some of my coupons have been automatically adjusting down at the register.

    • K

Their systems updated a couple months ago so no more moneymakers on giftcard deals. Personally I think target’s pulling a fast one. I’m sure they will submit the coupons for the full value. I smell a class action lawsuit.

      • Melloddie

Yea that’s not right if they are submitting for the full coupon amount from the manufacturer while they are giving less to the customer. It’s not meant to work that way. I hope the manufacturers catches on targets practice and rejects their claims for improper claim.

      • Cassandane

I agree. It’s not kosher if retailers are not giving full face value yet claiming it on their end as an additional MM. Retailers already get reimbursed + extra for accepting MC. This is waiting for a lawsuit to happen!

      • Donna

You are exactly right. They submit the coupons to the vender for the full amount of the coupon even though they price down to prevent overages to the customer! They are making $ in addition to their coupon $ amount! No one has questioned them about this! It happens a lot to me personallly!

      • Tarri

They did previously get called out on the lowering the amount of the coupon and getting the full value, for a short while it went back to getting the full face value when it scanned. But of course it is back to the lowering the amount. I personally think they are doing this so it makes up for some of the coupon fraud out there or ones they don’t get reimbursed for, for whatever reason.

    • Karen

How much do the coupons adjust down?

      • vchavez

The coupon adjusts to 1.74. I just got back from Target 10 mins ago.

    • Mommyof5

This happen to me this pass weekend I was upset. My coupon value was $6.99 and it only took off $4 so I paid $10 more than I would of paid if my $6.99 would have applied

      • ash

Was the product you were buying $4? The ‘up to’ coupons adjust down to the price of the item.

        • Mommyof5

The product i bought was $6.99 which so was my coupon but sonce they were giving a $5gc it adjusted down which wasnt fair because the coupon was $6.99

    • Yoyo

Pay $5, get a $5 GC; free is free. Keep in mind that they are offering us a gift card deal in the hopes that we spend more. No one’s forcing them to do these promotions.

      • Cassandane

Correct, but that’s Target’s offer. The manufacturer’s offer is the full face value of the coupon in order to get us to buy a product. It’s not a reason why a retailer should double dip. It’s another way retailers have been dropping the hammer on coupon users, IMO thanks to extreme couponers (i.e. Hoarders & resellers)

        • Yoyo

Target does that offer to make money from us by offering a $5 GC; they’d take a loss if we paid less than $5 and got $5 to spend at the store. But that’s still their offer, giving us Target money regardless. I’m perfectly fine spending $5 to get a $5 GC back since I’m even and people should be too. Manufacturers haven’t been making comments about Target’s coupon value reduction so go ahead and sue the store if you want the full value of your coupon taken off at the register then tell us how that goes.

          • Cassandane

Why so snarky? Manufacturers don’t make “comments”, they just stop offering coupons to consumers. They do the same when consumers misuse coupons (i.e. Extreme couponers, hoarders, resellers), I would fully expect yet another drop in coupons if retailers are misusing coupons as well. The coupon system has changed drastically in the last 5 years.

            • Yoyo

Because people need to stop complaining about getting ‘only’ free.

  4. Shine

Out of topic: Does anybody know how to contact coupons.com? I have an account with them but for some reason it’s not allowing me to print coupons unless I entered my phone number for them to verify. Well i keep on entering my only one phone number and it keeps saying that my email and phone number is already in use. It’s so frustrating coz it’s just going on circles with no success at all. Please i need help if anyone has ideas. Thank you.

Darn! Maybe try clearing your browsing history and try again. Hope this helps!

    • Denise

Sometimes I have luck using another browser.

  5. DS

Sorry for OT question, but are the Share your code posts still a thing? The only ones I found were a month old. Is there a new link? TIA

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

We have decided to stop posting those due to so many reports of unfair trades.

  6. Tarri

I did this deal yesterday and got eye shadow and mascara. Thanks.

  7. Pooja Garg

They gave me grief trying to use coupon as it would not scan
