Attention Target Shoppers!

Are you aware that Target is now offering a Cartwheel Perks Rewards Program in select locations? If you are one of the lucky customers with Cartwheel Perks available, you should see the Perks page in your Cartwheel App.

Customers that have Cartwheel Perks will earn 10 points for every dollar spent on all purchases made in-store (with the exception of CVS pharmacy purchases made inside Target). These points can eventually be redeemed for rewards valued between $10 and $20.

Check out this email I received from Hip2Save reader, Rose…

Hi Collin and Hip2Save staff!

I am very excited to tell you about my great deal… I received two FREE DVDs from Target just from simply shopping there and scanning their Cartwheel App every time I made a purchase. I think it took me almost a year to collect over 10,000 points (at 10 points per $1) with school shopping, Christmas shopping, various basic essentials and of course, great deals posted on Hip2Save.

I recently decided to cash out two rewards – new release DVDs with a maximum value of $20. I purchased “Finding Dory” and “Moana” at $24.99, expecting to pay $5 each for them. To my surprise, the entire amount of $24.99 was taken off at the register. I scored two totally FREE high dollar Blu-rays (a $50 value) just for shopping! I can’t wait to put them in my kids’ Easter baskets soon to enjoy them for many family movie nights to come!

Do you have these Rewards in your area?

(Thanks, Rose!)

I signed up for this back when it was a separate app. It’s not available directly in my area, but I travel and it was available in stores I passed and shopped frequently. I was super happy when it paired with Cartwheel. I’ve gotten TWO giant Arm & Hammer laundry detergents (170+ loads) for free. I always check the ground and the carts for extra receipts LOL

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Thanks so much for the feedback!

  2. Peaches

This program is currently being tested in Denver, Houston, San Diego, and St. Louis. Not here in Alabama sadly.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hopefully it comes your way soon! 🙂

  3. Kim W.

We have this program in the Chicago area too. I love it. Some rewards that I’ve seen include a free pair of jeans, a free throw, and a free book. It’s a nice rewards program and you rack up pints quickly. 😉

    • David

How do you look it up? Can’t find it and I’m in Chicago also

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wow! Awesome rewards! Thanks for sharing!

    • Karen

Where in the Chicago area do you live? I live in the Chicago area and haven’t seen it yet. Thanks!

  4. Another Michelle

I live in Boulder and have redeemed a perk twice over the past few months. First, I received a $15 Melissa and Doug fireperson costume for my daughter. Most recently I received a $35 insulated kleen kanteen water bottle. Amazing rewards.

    • Heidi

      Love Kleen Kanteen! Awesome!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks for sharing your experience!

  5. Jan L

I’m one of the lucky ones….I’m in the St. Louis metro area and we’ve had this for probably a year now. It works with the Cartwheel app. My favorite free “perk” was a Threshold cool-feel pillow. Most of the perks have a maximum price of $20, but the Threshold pillow perk did not and the retail for the pillow is $34.99! My most recent perk was a pair of sunglasses.

  6. Bernadette

I have this in my area in NC and have for more than a year now. It is awesome. I am at a level where I get $20 rewards just for shopping there. Yesterday I got a $19.99 stock pot for free. I’ve also received $20 in jeans and $20 in pj’s. Hope it comes to your area soon!!

    • Barb J

what part of nc? I live in nc myself but don’t see it in my app account.

      • Tara

I lived in rocky mount when I first got it in 2015. But I live in Charlotte now and have it. They were testing it in the raleigh area back when it was a seperate app.

      • Lauren

I live in Holly Springs and we have it too!

      • Allison 💙

The Triad (where I live) doesn’t have it, but the Triangle (Raleigh, etc) does and that’s where I signed up for it when the separate app first came out.

      • Sheila

Looks like Kannapolis is a go-to. I’ll have to check when I’m closer to uptown Charlotte.
Does it pop up as a notification in the app or something?

        • Megan Kulowiec

Jacksonville N also. Just got a Sip water bottle (32.99) for free!!!

  7. Meg Bee

I’m in St. Louis and I love this program. It came in handy during the Christmas holiday. I spent so much money on gifts. Lol. But I was able to get a few free items too.

  8. Heather

Does anyone know if that works in Indiana?

    • SJ

      No, it doesn’t.

    • TWash

We have it in Indy 🙂
Started a few months ago. I love it!

  9. Allison

I love the cartwheel perks! I have gotten a free laudndry detergent, 3 DVD’s, sunglasses, and a water bottle all free using my perks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Glad to hear that!

  10. Crystl211

I’m and Houston and been using the perks program since they launched it here little over year ago. I was able to get a great $25 threshold pillow for my bed so far. About to unlock another perk soon.

  11. Samantha g.

    Not available in Indiana. 😢

    • TWash

      It’s available in Indianapolis

  12. Aubrey

I’m in the Houston area and on my 9th perk!! I’ve cashed in for 3 free pairs of Sunglasses, a pair of jeans, and 4 free movies. When you do your grocery shopping there they add up quickly!

  13. Katie

I lived in STL and have been using it since it started. I moved to Tampa this year and am still able to use it down here. I’ve redeemed almost 10 rewards. Mostly due to getting married recently so we cleared our registry, moved into a new house, and my local store is a full grocery store so that’s where I weekly shop. Points add up quickly. I just wish when the expiration date on the reward is up, new ones would be put out, instead just extending the date. I always go for the higher price items to get the most out of the reward. For instance, Starbucks 32ct is $24.99. The coffee or tea reward doesn’t have a price limit. I also get movies and books a lot, free entertainment!

    • Tiggy

As long as you sign up in an area where the program is live, you can then use it at ANY Target. So, if you go on vacation in an area in which the program is active, you can sign up there. Then you come home from vacation and you can continue earning and redeeming Perks.

      • Christina Blue

Wow – great to know! Next time I’m in Houston, I’ll do it!

      • Cynthia

Actually that is not true, it is only available in certain states. Florida does not have it as part of their cartwheel app St this yime.. there are Target stores that do not except it. And should not be required to if everyone that uses cartwheel doesn’t have that as part of the app. I work at s target and we have been told by corporate that we are not to except it.. we are doing our job as cashies and managers and those that have the perks take advantage of it by getting angry at us because we are following store policy. I personally do not enjoy being yelled at and called names or told I am being a bitch because I follow the store policy.

    • Sara

Not fair at all we don’t have it here in Kansas City, almost worth a road trip to St. Louis! lol.

  14. Cassie weaver

We’ve got it here in NC!

    • Winnie

      Where in NC?

      • Sarah

Holly Springs, Raleigh and Cary are areas I am aware of.

  15. Shelly

I have it here in NC and love it. I have redeemed countless perks – jeans, blu rays, books, throws, frying pans, tide pods and so many others! It is so easy to use!

  16. Karen

I thought it was live everywhere, we had it here in Colorado since around halloween 2016. I have redeemed three, i got a box of 36 k cups, a pair of jeans and a throw blanket, so far and i am really close to earning my fourth.

    • lori ogbuji

Same here, I thought it was weird that Colin never mentioned it on the site. It’s the best program!!

  17. Amy

I don’t see a perks page in my app. Does that mean it’s not offered in my area?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I believe so 🙁 Hopefully it will be available for your area soon!

  18. MnGirl

Not on ours in MN 🙁

  19. Hip2trade

I don’t see a need to “test” it in certain areas. Doesn’t everyone everywhere love a free perk 🙄

    • Jackie

      Totally agree with you!

    • Tiggy

The program apparently is easy to spoof and people are able to fraudulently redeem for rewards that they haven’t earned. Unfortunately, until Target can get a handle on that, it probably won’t roll out nationally.

      • Hip2trade

Sounds like Target needs to fix it or close it temporarily to get it the way it should be.

  20. Emma

Wow, I thought everyone had this! It’s so great! I started earning when I was living in San Diego, and recently moved to Michigan and I’ve never had a problem getting it to work at their stores. I downloaded it under the zip code 92026, if that helps anyone!

  21. Bharu

Does any one knows is this available in AZ

  22. Connie

This program has had problems with scammers. People were selling illegal copies of their rewards and the scammers were buying and using them. It’s really a shame – it affects all of us.

    • Sarah

Ugh! Why do people have to do such things!?

    • Jackie

People are so greedy sometimes. Why do they have to do this?!? Why ruin this awesome opportunity? I love my Target and I just wish people would be doing dumb things like that and ruin the chance for other people to get good deals the right way.

  23. Dee

I live in Fort Collins CO.. I love it.. so far I redeemed twice.. babyganics boxed wipes worth $27.99 and a frying pan..

  24. Darcie

What’s nice is that you get to choose from a variety of items which one you want. I’ve gotten sunglasses, jewelry, kids clothes!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome!

  25. Valerie Hilshorst

I live in Leadville, CO and I’ve had this for quite awhile. My biggest complaint is that often the items that should work for the perk don’t. For example, I tried to buy a pan with my any bakeware or cookware up to $20 off and I had to try 5 different pans before it would actually work. I’ve complained several times to the manager because it’s so confusing, they said they’ve gotten a lot of complaints. But I have gotten a free pan, free throw blanket and free sunglasses so far. I tried to get a free movie the other day but the one I picked wouldn’t work, AGAIN, so I have to go back another time and try again.

  26. Sarah

I signed up for this when they were doing a test run in NC. We moved to AL and It didn’t work in store, but I could still earn on my online purchases. When it merged in to the cartwheel app it started working for me again! I LOVE it!! I have earned a $40 purse, a $40+ boxwood wreath, a Smith Hawkin wood tray and just cashed in again for the Moana DVD! I have also earned a handful of free Starbucks! Target is my jam, so having this perks makes it all the more enjoyable. Definitely icing on an already delicious cake! I hope it spreads to more areas soon so more people can reap the rewards!

  27. Jamila J Carter

Never heard of it but I live in Ohio

  28. Elaine

I’m moving to Houston next month!! Yes!!!!!

  29. Eszter

I downloaded Cartwheel in San Diego area, then moved to San Francisco Bay area. Had no problem getting my perks (bathtowel, sheetset, gadgets, pot) until recently I was told that they are not available in North California… When I insisted that I could redeem them the other store in nearby city, a customer service manager stepped in and told the cashier that “We accept Perks but only if proven it came from Cartwheel app”. And ta-da, it worked.

  30. Susi

Not in north Texas yet and I’m totally bummed hearing all these amazing perks y’all are getting. But congrats to those that do!!

  31. momof7

    How can I sign up?

  32. W Marie

Is this only available thru the app? I o my access Cartwheel via website.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Only available in the app.

  33. lori ogbuji

In Boulder Colorado. I have gotten free pair of jeans, water bottle, free pillow, and a free pack of the baking pans. I thought it was strange that Colin never mentioned this, now I know why. It has been around for months! It’s important to use cartwheel every time you shop with this program. Or you can scan your receipts within seven days. It’s a great program!!

  34. momo

Link asks for survey b4 you can read anything! Pass.

  35. Vivian

Jealous it’s not in SoCal lol

  36. Kate

This worked out great as I got our 1st perk on my sons birthday. I just wish u could pay the diffence for a more expensive item. But I slso understand y they dont w/ppl abusing that as well.

  37. Cynthia

Hope it comes to Florida soon !

    • Melanie

      Me too!!

    • Melissa Cajigas Valdes

I live in Miami Fl, and have perks. Where in Fl are you guys?

  38. Jessica

I’m a little bitter this isn’t available in Philly yet.

  39. Laura Brandt

Those who have it, would it be on the same page where history, settings, etc. is?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! When you open your app it is located on the lower left hand corner, in the same bottom bar as your “Offers”, “My List” and “Checkout” items. Hope this helps!

  40. Adrianna

I’ve had this for over a year and it is amazing! It’s also so easy to collect points and accumulate rewards. So far I have received 3 Halloween costumes, 3 movies, a $15 toy, diapers, and a pizza stone.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Thanks for the feedback Adrianna!

  41. SmartShopper

I wish this was available in the Chicago suburbs. I shop at Target at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. I love Target and wish this program would roll out to ALL the stores. How exciting to get free perks! Those who have this program are lucky!

  42. Holly s

Silly question, but how do you know if your store participates in this? I’m in Ca

  43. Megan

I love Perks!! We do all of our grocery shopping at Target and I’ve gotten over 100 free diapers and a pair of earrings through my rewards!!

  44. Beckie

I am in Chicago but do not see this, how do I get it?

  45. Anita

I’m in Houston and have had this since last year. The rewards go from roughly $5 to $25. I normally use the free pet item reward and can get dog food, treats, or even potty pads up to $25. It helps a lot since I foster dogs for a rescue. 🙂

  46. Neisha

I lived in Colorado and moved to Texas last year. I thought it was something everyone had until I was looking at the cartwheel app on my moms phone and noticed she didn’t have it. I’ve gotten two movies and a book for free. Have had no problems using it here in Texas.

  47. Coleen

I’m not sure if you posted about this somewhere else but when I got my first perk the manager at the store told me it’s only for certain android phones, not the IPhone. It appeared in my Cartwheel app when I was visiting North Carolina from California and have accrued my points in California. It also gave me credit for my online purchases.

  48. Julie

Late to the party but I am in the program. The perk rewards were so much better a couple months ago. I finally got enough point to redeem for earphones and the perk was gone. I said okay I’ll get a bakeware item. Go to the store, open the app, that’s gone too! The perks that are currently available are kind of eh

  49. Kate

Julie–I agree!! I was just looking at my options and they are almost all “$10 off a blah blah” instead of the bigger perks, like a free pillow or pair of jeans.

  50. Nikole

Anyone know if/when it will be in VA? The folks at Target always mention it but never have an idea of if we will get it 🙁
