I love Dollar Tree and always end up spending more than I need to. Some stuff is overpriced, like the drinks. But tons of awesome deals. We get our frozen fruit and sausage there. Also school supplies, poster boards, phone cases, book lights, pet toys are all great buys. Make sure to snag their butter popcorn (pre-popped) in the chip aisle, so addicting!

    • Jen

True on the frozen fruit, especially the blueberries. Frozen blueberries cost like 3-4x more @ my Walmart…even here in FL (we have some local blueberry farms). They’re great for cheap healthy morning smoothies and easy overnight oatmeal. Bread, Ketchup, Pasta, those moisture absorbers (great for my windowless bathroom), cards and party supplies of all kinds, vegetable/herb seeds. strawberry/raspberry preserves, poptarts…..and lots of other stuff I buy exclusively at the DT. I also always go for just one or two things there and I’m lucky if I leave with only 10$ less in my pocket lol.

PS:To anyone reading, the other day I spotted full sized boxes of General Mills Strawberry Tiny Toast cereal. There’s a 1/2 coupon on coupons.com right now that will get you the boxes for only .50 cents each! Unfortunately, I didn’t see the coupon till I got home (the DT isn’t too close to me) and I’m afraid to be tempted by other things if I go back for it lol.

Awesome video! I love Dollar Tree.. there’s a few near my house so I swing by them a few times a week to see if I can get some deals! A while back I went and I found Tigi professional salon conditioner 🙂 I bought 9 bottles and they work amazing on my thick, curly hair! I looked when I got home and they retail for $9+ EACH on Amazon!

    • Lori

Thanks. I found tigi shine spray at my dollar tree. I’ll be on the lookout for the conditioner.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Ohh! Great find Jessica! Happy you enjoyed the video!

    • Jaimee Edelburg

I will have to keep a lookout for this conditioner. I have thick curly hair also and always have problems finding an inexpensive good conditioner!

Dollar Tree IS my go to place for everything you mentioned, Collin!!! Speaking of, I have been buying Awesome for years and use it for every type of cleaning you can imagine… My favorite is to spray the straight, (not diluted) Awesome onto laundry stains, let it sit just a few minutes, and throw in the wash. I have gotten many old and new grease stains out of my laundry this way…

    • B

I have some old grease stains on one of my favorite dressesI haven’t tried Awesome yet. Thanks for the tip! Going to try it 😃

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy to hear you have had success with the Awesome cleaner as well! Thanks for sharing!

  4. thehenrydthoreau

One can find toilet plungers and brushes. These run $7+ at Target.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I know! Super cool that you can grab them from the Dollar Store for just a buck!

  5. Carrie

We love LAs Totally Awesome cleaner. Works for everything! Stains, Pet stains, Spit up in clothes and on and on with the cleaning possibilities. We always have a bottle in our home.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks for the feedback Carrie! Good to know how well it cleans!

  6. D

Dollar Tree is an awesome store! I buy all my balloons for the family’s birthdays and it’s so much cheaper than the ones in the floral dept. at the grocery store. They have kids character balloons too. Oh and I just found Whiskas dry cat food 3 lb bags at my local store.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wow! Super cool find! And yes, definitely the best place to grab balloons!

  7. LeAnne

The LA Totally Awesome Orange Powder is great to put a little in your sink drains to keep them fresh. I also love their 4 gallon scented trash bags for small wastebaskets. 50 for a buck, I have a great tip too, if your smaller trash can keeps losing the bag when your throwing things away, grab a 6 pack of those rubber elastic headbands at the dollar tree and fit it over your bag and it will grip and hold the bag and no more falling bags in the can. I always get compliments on the wrapping paper and gift bags. They have some really cute stuff.

    • Julie

Ah ha! Thank you for the tip for the elastic headband around the trashcan… I’m always trying to tie my bag and it never stays.

    • Lolie

Great trashcan trick for the bag! Thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Love these helpful ideas LeAnne! Thanks for sharing!

    • AnnieL.

I use those small scented trash bags too, on my recycle bins…I love them. I tie them in a double knot

  8. Heather C

My daughters math teacher just said she’s desperate for scissors for an end of the year project…Dollar Tree here I come! Nice job Collin.

    • Nb

I saw kid scissors at my Office Depot in FL the other day for .23 each the other day

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh perfect! You’re very welcome Heather! 😉

    • Anna

I buy scissors at Harbor freight for 1.00. That allows me to use my “free with purchase batteries” or “free with purchase flashlight”

  9. Rose

Awesome Video. I love the Dollar Tree! I follow the dollar tree hauls on YouTube. Great finds! I wish you guys would have more Dollar Tree shopping’s.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the feedback Rose! 😉

  10. A.Gold

I have noted this before. If you are going to a party far from your house- you can buy the balloons at your local Dollar Tree and keep the receipt and get them blown up closer to the party. You won’t have to drive hours with the balloons annoyingly floating around the car. They have great shaped balloons and novelties. I bought the cupcake balloon for $1.00 that Party City has for $4.99!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What a helpful tip!! Thanks for sharing this! Good to know!

  11. maflies1

Was @ DT yesterday and found some of the same items as others, and found some others I didn’t get and wish I did after thinking about it. Very nice assortment of summer containers in various sizes in matching colors. Was going to ask the day that they receive bread and forgot, but got several loaves of very fresh, and would be expensive in any other store sense it is name brand and healthy. Also got frozen 1 # bag of french fries, tater tots, and hash browns. Had them b4 and was satisfied with them. Did my usual check for origin and they passed. You may call me picky, but I am in the habit of checking the origin of foods, and most other things. And these three passed the test, I’m glad to say-just want to know who, or where my food was made or packaged.

  12. Tracy

I go to Dollar Tree for hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, cotton balls, generic neosporin, heat pads and medical tape for small boo-boos. The bandaids are not very adhesive though.

  13. Mrs BK

I wish my Dollar Tree sold bread 😞 Your store looks really awesome, clean and well stocked with lots of good stuff 😊 My store is very hit or miss with having the name brand deals u post from time to time. But I sure do love it for gift bags, cards and cleaning products!!

  14. Oxana

As much as we shop at DT, I should buy stock in it. 🙂 I love their black currant jelly. Prior to DT, I could only find it at a gourmet shops for about $10 a jar. But most of all I love DT for school supplies. They have so many awesome finds to teach littles ones at home. This is by far my favorite store and I definitely am addicted to shopping there!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear you have found some great items at your store! Thanks for the feedback!

    • Diane

Dollar Tree doesn’t pay a dividend. A dividend gives you a little money back while you hold the stock or in some cases allows you to invest your returns in more stock. Dividend stocks we purchased when our kids little were so helpful when we had to pay for college tuition.

  15. Misty

Don’t forget the handmade Mother’s Day cards. They are really nice. Plus, they have the 2 for $1.00 cheaper Mother’s Day cards for family/friends you may want to get a card at a reasonable price. Oh, and the book section! People need to start buying more books there in order for them to put new ones out. LOL

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for sharing Misty!

  16. Erin

I only buy greeting cards, tissue paper, and gift bags at Dollar Tree! My other favorite thing to get there is BUCKETS! A mop bucket at Walmart costs $5-8!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yes! Great tip Erin!

  17. Melissa

On my most recent trip, I bought pinwheels. My 5 year old twins loved watching them spin in the wind. And it has been very windy lately so it is a constant pleasure see. Also, bought matchbook cars, dusting cloths for my Swifter, and some great greeting cards that would have cost me at least $3 apiece if I had purchased elsewhere. It is also a good place to pick up reading glasses and sunglasses.

    • Susan

I always buy reading glasses at Dollar Tree! For $1……it’s no big deal if they get lost 🙂 There is no place else that even comes close to $1. Other stores (like Target and Walgreen’s, etc) average $20.

And they have a large variety and are decent quality.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great buys Melissa! Thanks for sharing your finds!

  18. Kristen E.

Watched your video & ran to Dollar Tree (okay I drove BUT still). Got the nail polish super cute and the Mothers Day cards. And the mugs for teacher appreciation day tomorrow at my preschoolers school, filled them with chocolate & nail polish ! Thanks for all the hard work Hip2save team !

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

SO glad to hear that Kristen! You’re very welcome!

  19. Pam

Thanks for the video Collin! Good to see what Dollar Tree has!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome Pam!

  20. jess

Hi Collin! Love the video. Could you tell me where you purchased your booties? I could not stop looking at them! So cute!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Jess!
Thank you! The brand is Steve Madden. 😊 I think I purchased them from Kohl’s.

      • Leslie

        Love love kohls!

      • Angie

Glad I’m not the only one who likes your boots, I was going to ask also 🙂 Is there a style name?

  21. MrsFelix1004

I just bought twenty Tshirts for my sons first grade class…another parent has a decal machine so that way we can make matching shirts for less than $3 each!! Yay! Before we realized the dollar tree had shirts we were asked to pay $15 per shirt. Awesome idea for the end of the year plus we can let everyone sign them.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That’s awesome! Happy you could score them for so much less at the Dollar Tree!

  22. Misty

I even saw some baby onesies at the Dollar Tree with Mother’s Day sayings on them! LOL

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      How cute!

  23. Pao

I went today to get a card and a basket for my daughter’s teacher appreciation day present and found My Minnie Mixie q’s blind 2 packs!
They’re $2.88 at Walmart, got many other things but the blind bags were my fav find! I love dollar tree and like all, I only go for one thing and come back with $20-$30 ! Lol!
I still love to go! 😂😂😂
Keep your eyes peeled those who have daughters that like the mixie q’s 😉👌🏼 great little find!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet! Thanks for sharing!

  24. Vicki

I didn’t know about the large storage/ ziploc like bags. I will have to go get me some of those.

  25. taz

Here’s some deals I grabbed at the store here in Colorado. Scotch brite pads 4/30 =.50, scrubbing bubbles drop ins 4/9 coupon = free, barilla pasta 4/30=.50. Since this store is the largest we have different types of bread so I’m always able to use ora wheat, natures own & sara lee coupons so it comes to .45.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome scores!

  26. Joy

The Pennysticks brand mini pretzels make awesome beer drinking snacks. Nice and salty the way beer pretzels should be. Really tasty. This might be a regional brand though for DT. I’m in Upstate/Central NY area.

  27. Amanda

The dollar tree..what can I say that hasn’t already been said love the place. I find that I can spend a long time looking just to see all the new stuff they have available. I love the idea Erin about using reusable bags instead of gift bags. Totally doing this from now on. I have used Awesome since I was 16. Use it for carpet cleaner, back of stove grease, everything. FYI I have had positive experience ordering in bulk online and picking up in store. I buy in bulk for all kid gifts sets for holidays at school as sometimes in store the selection of the amount of product availability.

  28. Whitney

I have gone a bit nuts in my DT book section once I discovered it.

    • Molly

I love the book section too! But wish there was some organinization to it! My stores shelves are a mess!

      • Schuwoman

I end up organizing the books when I look. 😁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Lol! Happy to hear you have grabbed some good books from your store Whitney! 😉

  29. Whitney

That Extra Grainy Oroweat (Arnold in FL) bread is my new fave. It’s perfect for avocado toast! I don’t think my smaller DT carries it but I’m going to look!

  30. cindy

Love the DT for all the same reasons. I like their magic erasers and small kitchen scfub brushes. True story – not a fan of dt q-tips though. My 16 year old broke one off in her ear! Required a doctors office visit to extract it. The $1 package cost ovet $100 when all said and done! Lesson learned!

  31. Sarah

Love Dollar tree. I buy most of my medical supplies there especially scar gel, same ingredients as mederma but those retail for $15+ for half the size at Target. There’s so much to stock up on like kitchen utensils to bring to parties where I don’t care if it gets left behind or lost!

  32. Pooja Garg

Dt is my go for all my play date themed parties for my daughter and seasonal decor not to mention finding brands you wouldn’t imagine at dt love it

  33. JA

My store has really cute artwork. Its in the picture frame aisle. Lots of Paris themes, inspirational, religious and kitcheny ones. I got a few coffee related ones to decorate near my Keurig and my daughter found some for her room. They sell straps to hook on bedsheets so they don’t fall off, and yes, they work! Found a beautiful plaque about friendship that I gifted recently. I love their brand of Woolite cold water wash for clothes. Keeps colors looking fantastic and so much cheaper! I could go on and on!

  34. AnnieL.

The good ol dollar tree is the best store ever! I get stuck in there for long periods of time going thru stuff I never thought I needed, but end up buying it Lol. I have those small coke glasses in the video, they are so cute. I pour my soda in them and have that diner feel while im drinking. Will have to go buy that orange gift bag..love it. And stock up again on storage baskets for my odds and ends 🙂 . they have the best seasonal decor too

  35. Amy

Buy the dollar tree version of the swifer wipes and dusting cloths. I always pick up a few packs. Also the stainless steel appliance cleaner a 6 pack of wipes. 1 wipe cleans my microwave, dishwasher, double oven 60″ fridge, 36″ cooktop and hood vent. Also they have bleach spray cleaner. That works awesome.

  36. Nichole

Love the dollar tree! Keep the videos coming. 😉

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear that Nichole! Thanks for the feedback!

  37. Summer

    I love the $1 mylar party balloons……..

  38. Nichole

Had anyone seen any Graduation Stuffed animals? My daughters preschool class has only 8 children in it. I was looking to get the kids a gift. I picked up the bubble machine and bubbles that the dollar tree had already.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for sharing!

  39. Sasha

Thx for the fun video. Definitely need to try storage bags & hunt for reusable bags.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re welcome Sasha! Happy shopping! 🙂

I found that the hardware section is worth looking at too. I’ve gotten painting supplies like rollers, trays, and brushes. They have screwdriver sets, gardening gloves, allen wrenches, tarps. So much stuff on that isle. Great for Father’s Day too!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome idea Carrie! And great finds too! Thanks for sharing!

  42. Staci

Helium balloons are a great deal there. I finally cut a hole in the last one we bought just to get rid of it, not because it was going flat. We bought a pretty butterfly one for my daughter’s birthday in February and it was still going strong. My kids have fun going there for decorations before holidays.
