Are shoes included for free? If I have to pay for shoes for 3 kiddies each time, this could really add up:)

    • Brandy

Brandy’s think alike! Anyone done this program before? I’d be up for it as well, but the shoe rentals are sometimes up to $8 each!

    • Kim

      Shoes are not included.

    • Beth

It can vary from alley to alley. I’ve done this program with my kids for many years. When it first started, our local alley didn’t charge for shoes, but now they do. I invested in bowling shoes for my kids. It saves us a ton of money in the long run. You can pick them up on Craigslist, eBay , etc for pretty decent prices. Then, when you do go bowl, you walk out having paid nothing! 🙂 🙂 🙂 The shoes pay for themselves in no time- plus they haven’t been on a ton of other kids’ feet. 🙂

        That’s awesome! Way cool deal!!

      • Paula

Yes, the best way to do this is to get the shoes cheap at yard sales or Salvation Army. I just picked up a pair of nice ladies Dexter at a church rummage sale today for $1. We have also gotten my husband’s off craigslist. I never pay more than $3 a pair. So this family of eight goes bowling for super cheap. Talk to families at the bowling alley who are on leagues and ask them what they do when their children outgrow them. We got a pair for our youngest that way. We love the “Kids Bowl Free program,” it is the only time we bowl. Any other time would be too expensive, so the kids are looking forward to next Monday when it starts.

there is also a summer shoe pass i believe for $15. that hot25 code for 25% off family pass has been same for awhile so i don’t think expires. have gotten it in my email several times now.

    • hlosanz

Didnt work for me but refer20 gave me 20% off.

A couple of the bowling alleys around here sell summer passes. It’s not free, but for our family, it makes sense (only one of our kiddos is young enough to qualify for Kids Bowl Free at this point). For $40, we got 1 hour of bowling + 4 pairs of shoes every day in June, July, and August. I thought it was a great deal, because it included shoes, and anyone of any age could bowl. So be on the lookout for deals like that as well.

The 25% off coupon (hot25) did not work. How much would you typically pay for a new pair of bowling shoes?

    • jane

Never mind. The 25% comes up after you click “no thanks” on the bottom of the page.

    • kahila

I use this program currently since in started in my area back in April. We go every Saturday n Sunday a.m.. Shoes are an addtl charge, but at 3.25 ea (I’ve got 3 kids under this program) that adds up quickly. Check Amazon. I purchased 2 pairs they were like 32 bucks. But I bought them a half size bigger so they would last a lil longer. They have a blast.. those lil jokers have been beating me every week!

  7. K

Can’t you just have your kids bowl in their socks? I know my bowling alley used to let people bowl in socks but that was 10 years or more ago.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You could always check with your local bowling alley to see if they allow that! 🙂

  8. Jessica

I’m bummed that our preferred bowling alley is participating, but only on weekdays til 5pm. I work all week, so I’d only be able to go on the weekend, and you can’t use the passes on the weekends at that particular alley.

  9. kahila

Forgot to mention… u can log into kidsbowlfree.com and they can do the ticket verification right from u phone. No paper waste

  10. m

hot25 will save you 25% off the family pass

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! That one comes up as invalid for me. Thanks for sharing!

  11. R

We have an option to get a shoe pass for $20 extra for the entire summer

  12. Shweta

So they allow your own shoes?

  13. Christine

I signed my grandson and family up for this. I have my own shoes and some that my daughters can wear but will be looking out for some for my grandson so we don’t have to rent for him. I had been an avid bowler since 1989 up until I had an accident back in 2009 which stopped me in my tracks, I’ve been trying to make myself get back into it and maybe with this I can get myself together in order to start back in the Winter league.
