FYI… Target has the Instant Pot “7-in-1,” 6 qt on sale this week that comes with a $10 Target giftcard for $99.95, so not sure what feature is missing from the “9-in-1” that Collin has listed.

Does this cook rice? My rice cooker just broke, maybe this will fill that need along with all the other great things I have heard about it?!?

    • Sarah

Yes, it does. I still have my rice cooker, but people love cooking rice in it. It is an amazing deal. If I didn’t have the last model I would jump on this deal. It has more precise temperature control.

  3. Lynette

Yes, I even made rice and soy sauce chicken at the same time. I put the chicken on the bottom and a bowl of uncooked rice on top and to my amazement it was perfect!

Just got it! Yay!!! Thank you for posting this.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Kaylee!

  5. Amanda

Do they make this version in an 8 qt? I like the larger size.

I’ve been waiting for the newest IP model to go on sale. I just ordered. Thanks Colin! I can’t wait to use it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome!

I’m not fretting too much. Bells n whistles aside, I got the 7 in 1 last time it was posted n this seems to do pretty much all the same exact things. There’s always a ‘newer’ model, next time it’ll be 10 in 1 then 11 in 1 etc. but essentially cooking wise, which is what it’s for, it’s doing the same things. They’re making these things like iPhones it seems.

    • Lo

I’m hoping the old model gets reduced now!

    • Sarah

You can also do sous vide cooking in this one, which you can’t in the older models, and for $99 is pretty affordable. The temperature control is definitely more advanced and different.

  8. Patricia

Is this big enough family of 4

    • Melinda Desbien

      yes it is

  9. Deidra

Can you can in this? Looking to do my garden’s bounty this summer 🙂

    • Terresa D.

No. USDA doesn’t recommend these be used for pressure canning.

  10. Nina

Not interested in doing sous vide..and the temp controls are perfectly fine in the older models as well..

    • Allison

I don’t think anyone was arguing with you.

  11. Nina

I know.. just stating how I felt. Thanks though.
