Anybody know if this is this the newer model?

    • Monica

It is not the latest model. I have this one and the 8 qt., and I absolutely love them! Highly recommend!

      • Tricia

What’s the difference between this one and the latest model?

Almost bought one on Amazon yesterday! Glad I waited! This is Model#IP-DUO60.

I’m really interested to hear how people feel about their pressure cookers. I am interested in getting one, but I’m a little gun shy.

I LOVE mine! I waited a while after I first started hearing about them and grabbed mine on Black Friday last year. If it broke, I would replace it without even thinking about it. I almost never use my slow cooker anymore because the IP is faster and most things taste better in it. We use it every week for hard-boiled eggs, perfect brown rice, and beans.

Love ours! We have had it for over a year and are always finding great recipes. We love doing kahlua pork (pork, liquid smoke and salt) in less than 2 hours. And it makes an awesome pot of French onion soup in less than an hour. My husband makes his hard boiled eggs each week and it is so quick and easy and you never have to worry about under/over cooking or forgetting them on the stove.

Darn! That code does not apply to this item. Thanks for sharing!

I have two of these instant pots and love them.
They can be very intimidating and you’ll have some trial and error, but worth it. Just try some cheap recipes first and not expensive meats until you get use to it. There is also a wonderful Facebook group with questions/answers and recipes to help you.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the helpful advice Haven! Great tips!

I love mine. I use it at least once a week to make bbq babyback ribs. They turn out juicy and tender. I’ve never been able to make good ribs in years! My husband is probably getting sick of ribs. Also great to make soups! And you can make cheesecake too – with a small springform pan which of course you have to buy. If mine broke I wouldn’t hesitate to replace if all I ever used it for was ribs.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh yum! Glad to hear how many tasty foods you have been able to make Carol! Thanks for sharing!

The best purchase I have made in years. I hesitated to use it at first but now I use it all the time. Homemade Greek yogurt is divine. Took me a while to convince myself to try it but I haven’t bought store yogurt in months. Soups, brown rice, one pot rice bowls , etc. I think my favorite part of this pot is when it goes in ” warm ” mode. It truly keeps it warm for as long as 8 hours without ever changing the recipe. It just stays the way it needs to be and is warm.

Yes! We make a lot of quick pasta meals in ours for dinner (ground beef, pasta, beans, etc ) always good and such easy cleanup with only 1 pan.

HELP HELP…. Could people comment on sizes. My husband and two teenage boys eat big, meat and potato guys. Would you recommend 8qt or 10qt. I saw the 6 qt. size! . Way to small for us. I like to cook once and eat two meals.
