Apple stores are once again hosting Apple Camp for kids ages 8-12 throughout this summer! This FREE camp lasts 1 1/2 hours per day on 3 separate days and is available at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country.

Space is limited and workshops fill up quickly so head on over here and sign your kids up now – just select your state and store and you will then be able to select the week you would like to sign up for (each child is limited to no more than one Apple Camp workshop). Note that a parent must stay with your child(ren) during Apple Camp.

I have done them the last two years. The movie one is really neat. They learn how to make a movie including a soundtrack with Garage Band. OR they write an electronic book including illustrations. Plus a free shirt and a USB stick to save their work one

Thank you! I signed up for these the last two years and love these classes! I was able to sign up my boys for the robotic one which is meet this year! Thank you Thank you!!

We did the movie one last year and were looking forward to the coding camp this year. Last year, they had openings the day the classes started, and still had less than full classes. I think many sign up, make other plans, and fail to cancel, denying kids that wanted to go the chance. I truly wish they would charge a nominal fee to avoid this – I’d gladly pay for the tee, USB stick and earbuds, just for the chance my daughter could attend.

Thanks for the heads up! My kids have enjoyed doing this for the past two summers. They took the story one the first year, and the movie one last year. They weren’t given a ton of information … They were taught how to do something for about 15 minutes and then they are given the rest of the time to create something using that information, but I thought it was worth it. They got a free (nice!) T-shirt and an Apple thumb drive that was also pretty cool.

My daughter did this last year. She absolutely loved it!!! It’s amazing what the kids (and parents) can learn and produce within that little bit of time. Highly recommend the camp! We’re going back again 👍🏻👍🏻

  3. Ana

Ugh some parents work during the day!

    • Jessica

Exactly. My kids don’t’ get to participate in anything.

  4. Me

This looks like it just opened for registration today. Yesterday there was nothing. The ones in my area are all full too.

  5. Lauren

All the classes we full in my area. Got on the waiting list for Garage Band camp. Hoping my son gets in since he’s been going for the last 2 years and live these camps.

Thank you for the post got my 2 age appropriate girls signed up here in San Antonio though it filled up as I was registering. It’s really great to follow your post so far my kids have had a blast this summer for free other than gas in the car-Thanks a BUNCH!

    • Jessica (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You are SO very welcome Amanda! That’s awesome that your kiddos have been able to take advantage of fun and free activities! 😀

  7. Kristen

Thank you!! We just moved to an area with an Apple Store nearby and we are struggling trying to learn the ropes and find fun activities so this will be fun!

    • Jessica (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You are welcome! Have so much fun! 😀

  8. Steph

Yay. I signed up my son. In was hoping I could escape & shop while he does this but it says parents have to stay. Darn. Bad mom fail.

    • Robyn

I was told at my local store that parents are encouraged to leave so the kids can focus. May depend on the location; couldn’t hurt to call or stop by and check ahead of the clinics? HTH!!

  9. Flavia

Steph, sometimes they allow you to leave. It gets crowded and crazy so it depends on the store. You might be away to get away.

    • Babs

I think it depends on the age of the kid. My son is 11, has an emergency cell phone with him, and my office is just around the corner. I happen to be on vacation that week but that will give me a chance to pop in and log some hours. I call it creative scheduling, being a working mom. Or if I’m all caught up with work and don’t need to score the office points, then I’ll go shopping. 🙂

  10. Sandy

Thx. Got my daughter signed up! These classes been always full. Glad I was able to try it this year.

    • Kimberly (Stylish Sidekick)

      You’re welcome Sandy!

  11. Jlopez

Does anyone know if the parent has to stay in the store the whole time? I have a younger child that won’t be a happy camper if she has to sit for 11/2 hr with not much to do.

    • Elizabeth

We tried this last year. They told us to stay within a couple of stores from the Apple Store. After a day, we quit, because there was no way we would last with my two little ones in tow. My kid was disappointed, but it would have been horrid for the rest of us waiting everyday.

    • Steph

Yes you have to stay close by

  12. onegirl

Sorry for those whose are already full but there are a TON of available days/times at our mall. Does anyone know if you can sign up for more than 1 class in the same day?

    • Lisa

My understanding is it’s one camp TOTAL per child.

  13. Q

Thank you. I registered my son for all 3.

    • Kimberly (Stylish Sidekick)

      You’re welcome Q! 🙂

    • FYI

It’s one per child per year

  14. Sarah

Pretty unhappy. I saw this post just now and everything is already full. But I coincidentally checked early this morning and no info was available yet. I had also signed up to be alerted to when reg. opened and I was not. Frustrated.

    • LisaP

I also signed up to be notified when registration was open, and I was not. My boys are very disappointed.

    • Melissa

I’m annoyed to that I signed up my husband and me to be notified for registration through Apple, yet never got an email in the Inbox or Junk. Everything around me is all booked even most waitlist is full too.

  15. Dina

My kids did this 2 summers ago (imovie) and still talk about it. Really fun!

  16. Rose

My kid is turning 8 in Aug. Can he still sign up even though technically he’ll be 7.95?

    • Crystal

the registration process didn’t request birthdate so i think you’re fine.

  17. Karen

Camps at Apple or Microsoft stores seem to fill up before they are announced anywhere. I have tried many times to sign up for one of these but they are always full.

  18. Ginelle

Put your kid on the waitlist! We were full one year and I put him on the waitlist. I got an email the next day that there was an opening for him. He had so much fun!

  19. Christina Amaya

They are all full as well as the waiting list. 🙁
