   Anyone know if this mulch can be moldy? I bought the Scott’s brand mulch at Home Depot a few weeks ago and they were moldy. Not the first time that’s happened either.

  I got 20 bags of this mulch at Lowes last time they were $2. Probably 3 of the bags had mold in them. HTH

   I’ve not been pleased with this mulch in the past. Not only can it be very moldy, but it often has huge chunks of wood, not the chips you would expect. I’ve decided to never use it again, no matter the price.

  We loved the rubber mulch. For the most part it stays put and doesn’t fade. We got ours at Sams club for the best deal, I think Costco is a similar price. HTH.

  Rubber mulch is not good underneath plants, gets too hot!

   I bought Lowe’s mulch twice, and have been very pleased. All mulch can be moldy, don’t hold that against the sellers. I like the dark brown, holds it’s color a long time and it is not full of big chunks.
