Erica Can’t Live Without THESE Ceramic Salt & Pepper Grinders
Note from Collin:
Do you have a product you love? We definitely have many favorite products here on the Hip2Save Team, and thought it would be FUN to share some of them with you! I personally love product recommendations and I’ve also had a few requests from readers, so I have asked each member of the team to think of products they love (cosmetics, kitchen gadgets etc.) and to write up a post that will be shared here every Tuesday. Erica, my sidekick, is sharing one of her favorites today…
Hey all! It’s Erica, one of Collin’s sidekicks!
I am sharing my favorite ever salt & pepper grinders!
So maybe I just never had one growing up and that’s why I think they are SO awesome… BUT these salt & pepper grinders are just amazing to me, and I’ve got to spread the word! 😍
I received these Kuhn Rikon Vase Ceramic Grinders as a gift from my mother-in-law about 5 years ago. And YES, I still have the same ones that are in great shape. Super BIG plus!
The number one reason why I love these is truly because I have no patience. A set I had before this took FOREVER to grind just a couple grains of salt or pepper – which is super frustrating when you’re making a big pot of soup (like this yummy Lasagna Soup) or other things that take more than just a pinch of salt.
You only have to twist this grinder a couple of times to do the job. It’s SO easy to turn and so much comes out with that first turn. Oh, and if you’re salt or peppering just your personal plate of food – about a 1/4 to a 1/2 a turn does it… YES – not 20 turns! 😜
Plus, the grinder is made of ceramic (NOT plastic) – which is likely why they are long-lasting grinders!
Need another reason to buy these?!
They clean well. You can completely take these apart and clean every piece of it. OR quickly wipe the entire outside of them after having company. And… I love that the salt and pepper comes out of the top (not the bottom) as it really keeps the counter/cabinets clean.
There is also a knob that you can twist at the top to make the salt and pepper super fine OR as coarse as you’d like!
In addition, there are tons of herb & spice blends that you can fill these with – they are not just made for salt and pepper! I made the choice years ago to only feed my family and I Pink Himalayan Salt – which you can purchase on Amazon (and there are also tons of other options listed here).
Not only is it a healthier option, but it tastes better too! I also love the taste of Rainbow Pepper (also sold on Amazon) – as it has SO MUCH FLAVOR!
My husband and I LOVE having date night IN… and every time we keep it easy by just grilling out and having some juicy steaks with veggies – with our Kuhn Rikon Grinders – of course. CHEERS!
The semi-downfall is that they are a bit pricier than some items out there on the market. Just one of these grinders (and you would need two – one for salt and one for pepper) go for about $18 each on Amazon – OR more if you choose the colored options. HOWEVER, I am hear to tell you… they WILL last!
And one more thing…
In addition to having low-patience, I also have trouble with letting stuff go. You know those salt & pepper grinders I mentioned I didn’t like at the beginning of this post? Well… they may still be in my pantry. Yikes!
I don’t use them. They are automatic grinders, which totally sold me at first because you literally just have to push a button… but I hate them because they come out insanely slow. And I just don’t have time for that! 😀

Hi Erika! Was wondering if these grind the salt/pepper fine or not. I have a pepper grinder that I don’t use much because it grinds it so coarse it makes the food too peppery for my daughter 🙁
Hey there Michele! I totally should have added this, there is a knob that you can twist at the top to make is super fine OR as coarse as you’d like – which is awesome!! 😀
That is awesome! Thank you for responding!
I am a huge fan of anything Kuhn Rikon! I only use their kitchen knives, piranha peeler, etc… the price is sooo worth it. Here’s a tip: you can usually find Kuhn Rikon stuff at T.J.Maxx and Homegoods 😀
Samantha, ‘piranha peeler’ had me in a fit of giggles, never knew piranhas were good eatin’, or required peeling 😉
😂 too funny
Awesome to hear Samantha… thanks for sharing! I LOVE TJMaxx. ❤️
You can purchase a set of these on QVC.com for 27.50.
I agree with Erica, I have this set and love them! They hold a lot, so you don’t need to refill often and they are really made well. They grind nicely too. 5*’s. I purchased them on QVC.
Happy to hear you love them too Danielle! 🙂
Thank you!! I’ve been scouting s/p grinders for years (yep… I’m non committal) and this just solved my problem. No plastic, good grind, options for fine/course, good capacity, cleanable…. wow… thats even better. awesome post thank you again.
