Note from Collin – I recently tested out this same Heavy Cream Powder on a backpacking trip and was only somewhat impressed. I found it to have a weird flavor and remained clumpy even after adding it to hot coffee. Anyone else have experience using this while camping/backpacking?

Heavy whipping cream is not half and half cream. Heavy whipping cream is generally just used for cooking, making whipped cream, and making butter. You would more than likely find powdered milk much more enjoyable in your coffee 🙂

She means heavy cream. I use heavy cream every day in my coffee. It’s nothing like milk! Way better.
I have this powdered one but haven’t tried it yet…I think I read in the Amazon comments some tips on dissolving it better. Maybe read those?

I would probably use it most commonly for making whipped cream. If the feedback is that it stayed lumpy, that’s no good.

Collin, here’s the tip from Amazon review:

But when I stirred it into lukewarm water, it dissolved very well, stayed very smooth and creamy, and was even thicker and more creamy after being chilled overnight. I also tried putting it in a jar and shaking it to dissolve, but that resulted in the same ‘beads’ that using a blender did. So I’m going to stick with stirring it, and highly recommend others doing so, too.

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing this helpful tip Lisa!

I saw this notation on a different heavy cream powder product:

Shelf Stable for up to 2 years if stored under cool, dry conditions

To replace 20% fresh cream mix 1 part powder with 3 parts liquid. We do not reccommend using this for item to replace whipping cream

This can be used as a shelf stable coffee creamer, however it is best to mix the desired amount into a tablespoon of coffee first, and then mix into the entire cup
Adding the product to an entire serving may cause the product to clump

Thanks for the helpful feedback! Good to know!

    Bummer I’ve missed it again.

Darn! I am seeing that as well! Thanks for letting us know!
