The holidays have just started barely a week ago and store sales for back to school have already begun! Wow ! Let the kids have a break for gods sake !!

Seasonal merchandise & clothing is always out 2-3mo ahead of the actual season. That’s how retail works. Me stocking up on BtS clothes & supplies in no way reduces my children’s summer break. My oldest is actually getting more excited for school to start as we hunt for BTS deals, and she has 8 more weeks to go 🙂

        RAWR. Try to be nice.

Nothing about my comment was mean. My goodness…

My kids start back Aug 10! Summer vacay is halfway over for them. But now is the time to start getting things off their list as I see them on sale.

My daughter goes back August 1. We are ready for the back to school sales here in Indiana! 🙂

Im in Texas….half way through the summer for us! For me as a mother of three living on one income, I must shop these sales. It’s not me trying to not allow my children not to enjoy their summer. It’s me trying to work my families stretched budget the best way possible. School supplies x3 plus school clothes x3 it adds up really quick. . Thanks HIP2SAVE for keeping me posted! The kids don’t even have to know you went back to school shopping! 🙂 Leave them with dad, grandma, aunt, uncle, family friend, etc. while you go, and if that’s not possible….a little shopping never hurt anyone 😉

My kids start school the very first week of August!

We have been out of school for 6 weeks and we go back August 9. We’re in Phoenix.

My kiddos have been out since May 23rd and go back August 14th. I’m happy to see back to school deals since I’m a planner and like to shop around before making my final purchases.

Our Wal-Mart sells out of basic school supplies before our states August no tax day. The closest stores are 30 miles away. I’ve done most of my school supply shopping now for my daughter and I’m a teacher. I spend so much on school supplies throughout the year that I love these sales because I can stock up on the cheap. These also make great gifts for younger kids as well as party favors!

      • Lee

I am also a teacher and like the sales to start early so I can spread out my purchases. Makes me think I spend less😂

My daughter just got out last Wednesday. Lol

I’ve gotten these flash cards at target before. My 5 year old loves the dinosaur and insect sets. My older kids used the math and states sets to help them learn multiplication and state capitals. I was glad to have them especially for the $1 per set price i paid.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Good to know they have enjoyed the flash cards Emily! Thanks for the feedback!

Some of us have been out of school since May 24th… this is perfect timing for many people.

Yes, out since June 2 and students go back August 14. Many go back earlier than the 14th in my state. Sadly, its time to start back to school shopping. And I agree, my state (FL) has back to school tax free days and everything is bascially sold out by then, you have to start now.

  8. Traci

I’m officially allergic to the tax free weekend crowds- I’d much rather pay my 9% and do some sale skimming than go in public that weekend. Only if I need to take a kid to a specific shoe store or similar on Friday morning- past that I’m out!

I got some of those already, my Target had them for about a month now. I bought the workbooks so my son could review before he gets back to school! Great value at a dollar! Better than the options right now at Dollar Tree which is where I get them usually.

I am in NJ and in this state we don’t get out till very end of June, sometimes almost July….. They don’t count on snow days, so if any given kids have to make up! And we did have some snow days this year to make up for. State says 180 days for public schools is mandatory. It turned hot here 2nd week in June. Poor kids! Not all schools or even all classrooms have air condition either! Our kids just got out, the last thing I care to do is look at is school supplies…. They don’t return until day after Labor day, so we in NJ have time to shop for that stuff later, such as August! Understand in other states you finish earlier, and start back earlier. My nephews in Missouri go back in early August, so for them they need to shop now…..

If you live in a warmer state, this is the best time for bargain/clearance back-to-school clothes shopping while you’re picking up these deals. I used to buy shorts and tees that my kids could wear until after Halloween here in CA.
