Is this a good price on Instant Pot or might there be better? I’ve been looking but waiting until the price drops low!

    • Kathy

This InstaPot will be on sale at Kohls starting on July 14th for $99. There is a $10 off of $50 coupon and an additional 30% off if you have a Kohls charge. This would make the price $62.30. There is usually free shipping for cardholders during the 30%, 20%, and 15% offer. I just got the flyer in the mail.

I’m on the fence about getting one of these. Is it worth it? I’m only a 1 person household.

    • Jen D

I’d say definitely worth it if you are cooking for yourself! You can still cook smaller portions in there. I have it for a two person household and we love it. It makes amazing rice, steams veggies, soups, shredded tender meats, etc!! I haven’t touched my crock pot once since owning this.

I suggest looking into a 4 qt or even 3 qt for yourself. but if you have family that comes often, a 5qt might be abetter option. aroma makes a turbo cooking pressure cooker in 2.5 qt size, but I personally feel thats too small. you can but the 4 qt and make double batches to freeze a meal for a later date.

      • crystalsnow

heres one that is 4qt and will come out to $50 after the 2 codes mentioned.

      • ToriSC

Thanks for the suggestion. I did go with this one because it has a higher wattage & has adjustment settings. I look forward to cooking a whole chicken instead of always purchasing a precooked one at the store on the way home. Any suggestions as to places to look for recipes?

        • Crystalsnow

The wattage difference accounts for the size of the unit. A 6 qt size needs more power to bring items to pressure in the same time that a 4 qt would do it.

One benefit that my husband loves that I don’t see a lot of people mention is it really keeps the heat down in the house which saves on electricity

  3. J-Woo250

Yes, this is a good price 😊 I love mine! It’s so nice when you’re in a crunch for time for dinner. And your meats turn out so tender 👍

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad to hear how much you have enjoyed yours! Thanks for sharing your experience! 😉

  4. Kristine

Is this big enough to cook a meal for a family of 6?

    • chris

Yes. I now have two. I made yogurt in one while doing beans in the other. It changes the way that you cook.

The better deal is to wait until the 14th. You can use the code home10 for 10 off 50. I also got a 30%off in the mailer I got yesterday I will buy online and pickup to save on shipping costs. I think it should be around 60 and I’ll use kohls cash I earned last week

    • Lo

Thanks for the tip! I hope the price doesn’t go up tho. I have yes rewards to use

    • Jaime

      Beth,

I just tried using the home 10 code it does not work the one day code does work for $10 off $50 purchase or more but it expires Monday July 10th, what is the coupon code for the 30% off from the mailer could you please posted on here so that I could use it, and the extra 20% off code also expires Monday July 10th

Does anyone know if Amazon will have one on prime day?

    • Kim

Just saw an Amazon ad saying the Instant Pot will be on sale Prime day . Not sure of the actual price though.

      • Kristin

        Thanks

  7. Beth

I am also getting the 24 piece Pyrex storage set. They are glass and most will fit in the instant pot. They will be on sale for 39.99 so I’ll add an item or two to get it to 50, use the code and use my 30% code. Hopefully it will work out right

This thing cooks a whole chicken in 23 minutes, chicken breast in 10. Rice cooker and a slow cooker as well love it

How long does it take for this unit to pressurize? I realize it cooks fast, but nobody ever mentions how long it takes to “warm up.” I had purchased another unit that took 15 minutes to warm up so, it wasn’t worth it to me. It ended up being defective though so not sure that they all take this long…

    • Kim

It varies. With 1 cup of water, which is typical, it takes about 10-15 minutes.

    • Crystalsnow

I have a Midea version, which you could say is the “original ” electric pressure cooker…and I found it to be slightly quicker to come to pressure, sometimes only 4-7 min whereas the instant pot took double that time. I eventually returned the instant pot bc I was use to a quicker pressure time due to using a stovetop version forever.

can you do any canning in it?

  11. drashti sharma

I have a unique 25%off coupon code (gives discount to non card holders as well) looking to trade if interested email me at divyasharma550@gmail.com
