Would like to say first, thanks for all the deals! I just wanted to pass on that if anyone is looking for cheap and nice quality rice cookers and rarely makes rice, don’t forget to check your local thrift store. I kick myself whenever I see one since I paid full price for mine but rarely use it.

I owned a rice cooker for three years before using it because it just made more sense to do it over the stove then to have an extra appliance. But now I’m hooked! It does a much better job and is maintenance free. I also add 2 teaspoons of white vinegar to my rice and it makes it perfect!

How cool! Thanks for the tip Sara!

Thank you so much for this and all the great deals! I have found so many great deals since following H2S!

The rice cooker I have is soooo old and not non-stick. I also see them at the thrift store, but since the old one I have is a hand me down, this new one makes me excited.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the super sweet feedback! Happy you can score a new one! You’re very welcome!

I use mine to make rice, quinoa and steel cut oats. I don’t babysit the rice and quinoa but you have to stir the steel cut oats and add more water as needed. I use the steamer basket on mine to steam vegetables while rice is cooking. I love mine.
