Don’t bother going if you have a high schooler with tons of books. I went this morning and these are small backpacks.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the feedback on their size! Good to know!

  2. Olivia Douglass

I just ordered one of each color to donate to our local school supply drive! Great deal – thanks for sharing!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Such a great idea! You’re very welcome!

Kohls has good Jansport backpacks on sale. With the Kohls Card get additional 30% off, free shipping, and $10 Kohls Kash back on a $50 purchase. They have good reviews too.

    • Tricia

30% coupon will not work on JanSport. 🙁

      • crystalsnow

Are you sure? We use to buy like this all the time. Plus sometimes it qualified for the $10 off $50 home purchase.

        • Kristen

I got the 30% to work on jansport but not the $10 off $50.

I just placed my order for all 3 colors! I have 2 boys and a girl! I hope we like then when we get them. ☺ So glad this deal was avaliable online since I went to the cuty today but no office max there would have had to drive a lo g ways to get them.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Super glad you could snag them Melissa!

I have several and my son in high school has used it for a year. It still looks new. I use one for a bag to take to sporting events. We can pack the iPad in the laptop compartment and also pack water snacks and my purse.in it. We also use it as an overnight bag when only staying one night.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks for sharing your experience Beth! Good to know how useful they have been!

  6. Coby

Got this last year when it was also on sale on back to school.. I have used it and the stitching on the strap unraveled.. And yes they are not big.. Just medium sized

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your honest review Coby! Sorry to hear it did not hold up well 🙁

  7. Frances

I have to agree…. not very big in size and the quality is definitely flimsy at best. I bought 3 for $10 each but I find it hard to believe they are worth almost $30 each retail. Either way, i plan on donating all 3 bags with school supplies to charities.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How sweet! Happy you could snag them Frances! Thanks for your honest review!

They’re kind of what you’d expect for $10. I also have a serious Swiss Gear backpack — and these are not the same quality! But they’ll survive the school year for the K-3 set, and especially great price if fairly high odds your kid may lose it in short order once the school year starts. 🙂

I bought one last year for my first grader and it lasted all school year. He has a habit of dragging his bag, so the front pocket has scrape marks and a small hole. He’s been carrying a backpack since Pre-K and that was the first time I didn’t have to buy another bag in the middle of the school year. I bought another one as backup for the upcoming school year because he and his brother (kindergarten) want character bags (Grandma is buying because I wouldn’t even waste my money the way they tear those up). Chances are one of them will need a replacement at some point during the school year.

Oh I had hoped they would be better quality since my son carried the same Swiss gear brand backpack all thru high school. I suppose that one was a better quality than these are. I was going to get my younger son one, but he’s rough on everything.

  11. Tiffany

Thanks, Ordered a pink one for my Daughter. I also had $5.99 is rewards from the printer paper deal last week. So I paid $4.39 for one!

    • Brandy

Shoot, I should’ve checked that printer paper credit before I bought them! And I got there an hour early because I foolishly read the opening time wrong. Oh well. I’m sure I’ll be back to buy more supplies!

Backpacks aren’t the most sturdy for Swiss Gear, but it’s a BTS gimmick to get you buying more. But for $10, my 3yo preschooler who is required to have a full sized backpack (to hold real paper) and my Kinder 5yo should be fine with a full schoolyear of these.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great score Tiffany! You’re very welcome!

  12. Amy

I’m waiting for the landsend book bag deal. My daughter has used the same bag for 3 years it is still in great condition, just small. I’m wanting to get her the next size up. I hear 3rd grade starts all the homework.

    • maria

Amy, my son had a rolling back pack from lands end that lasted for years. He got it as a hand me down from a friend that used it for 3 years. Great quality material.

  13. Lacey Helton

Would these be okay for an eighth grader?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Here are the details listed in the description:
“Padded compartment fits laptops with a screen size up to 15″. Also includes 2 water bottle pockets hold your favorite beverage.
      Also includes a tablet sleeve.
      Made of polyester for durability.
      Padded shoulder strap offers comfort.
      Internal organizer stores items easily.
Padded back adds comfort even when you are carrying a lot of items. ”
      Hope this helps!

      • Lacey Helton

        Thanks so much!
