Your math is wrong. if you buy 3, the 3rd item will still by $2.57 (not $2.25), so $7.07 before 50% off 1 bottle. And they’ll ring up
$2.25 / $1.12 / $2.57 = $5.94
You’re actually better off buying 4 bottles at $2.25 / $1.12 / $2.25 / $1.12 = $6.74 – $4 ecb = $2.74/4 or $0.68 each.

Actually, the 3rd bottle will be only $2.25, because when you buy 2 or more, the price goes down to $2.25. So it will be $2.25+1.13+2.25 for 3. I know because I did this deal two weeks ago, when they had it buy 3 get $5 EBs.
Strange! When I did the deal a few wks ago, the 3rd item rang up reg price. I thought that’s how it would ring up (like you said $2.25 + $1.13 + $2.25), but came up $2.25 / $1.13 / $2.37. I had to get a 4th bottle for it to ring the ‘or more’ price.
