I love the color but don’t like that they are plastic.

Same here! I search thrift stores for cute glass mixing bowls.

I bought this set about 6 months ago at Sams for $13. They are just okay and while I like the color, I wouldn’t recommend them for this price. One of the bowls cracked at the bottom and while they say they are dishwasher safe, another of mine warped.

Darn! Sorry to hear they have not held up well 🙁 Thanks for the feedback!

I have owned a set of 3 of these for over a decade. While they do look 👀 worn, i.e. Scratched, fading etc they are still in great functional condition with no cracks

Thanks for sharing Susi! Good to know!

I have a set of these bowls that I ordered from QVC. Extremely durable and not at all flimsy. They are my favorite mixing bowls. My go to item for bridal showers!

Great gift idea! Thanks for the suggestion!

Does the code bbq30 work for all kohls card holders on all purchases? Thanks!

Have these bowls and love them. They are my favorite mixing bowls. Durable and sturdy.

I have these bowls too. I bought them a seven months ago to go with my new kitchen. I would never have spent $60 bc I am too frugal to do that, but I needed to spend my kohl’s cash by that day and I ordered them online for free store pick up. I love them and use them often. I never put them in the dishwasher, not because I am afraid they won’t hold up, but they’d take up too much room in my d/w and I need to wash other dishes…plus when I bake or make food I like to clean up as I go along and not leave the bowls dirty waiting for the d/w. So mine are still pristine. I know I sound uptight, but I keep the liners that came in them separating them so they don’t scratch each other…they have a rubber ring on the bottom so they probably won’t but since they packaged it that way, I saved them and keep them between the bowls still.

oh and I like the heavy duty plastic, which is much easier to get out of the cabinet then my heavy ceramic mixing bowls! (and I don’t have to worry about them breaking if I drop them)

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the super helpful review!

I have the OXO Good Grips 3pc set from Kohls that seems similar to this (don’t know that they have it anymore) and I really like mine.

Even though plastic products say they are dishwasher safe, they are usually not, because the dishwasher soap degrades the oils in the plastic, which is what causes them to become brittle. I think the manufacturers tell you that so you have to buy new later as the items degrade. I never put plastic in the microwave either.

Case in point. A friend of mine and I both bought the same glass oblong pyrex dishes with red plastic lids about 4 years ago. Although I don’t wash the lids in the dishwasher because of the damage caused to plastic, my friend does wash hers in the dishwasher. Her lids have all cracked right down the middle and the sides of the lids have cracked. My lids are perfect. I never put anything plastic in the dishwasher, and that includes any silicones, any types of rubber, not even wood. My stuff lasts because I don’t wash it in the dishwasher. My friend also washes her wood spoons in the dishwasher, her wood spoons were so nasty I bought her new ones and informed her that washing in the dishwasher causes the damage hers had. Hers were slimy, I don’t know how she cooked with them. So gross.

Washing sharp knives in the dishwasher also dulls them and damages the wood handles so don’t do it. Just wash by hand and dry well before putting them away, they’ll last for years this way.
