This got the lowest Consumer Reports rating (16)!
    CRs Take
Lotion. Is Poor in overall performance. Very slight sweet plastic aroma sometimes associated with fragrance-free products. Takes a long time to rub in and leaves a white cast. Moderate greasy, draggy film. Active ingredients are: Octisalate 5%, Titanium Dioxide 3%, Zinc Oxide 6%. This product is Poor in its variation from SPF. It is especially important to apply this sunscreen liberally and follow manufacturer’s directions to reapply every two hours and after swimming.

I am really surprised by this because it is all we have used with our son and it has been great. It is thick and takes a bit of rubbing in, but aside from that, we’ve never had any issue with it in almost 3 years, and plan to use the same with our daughter.

      • Sarah

Yeah, we have not had any problems with it.

This is shocking to me. It has been an awesome product for us! All of my children have eczema and sensitive skin. No more sunburns or irritation

    • Alice

This is surprising to me also. It’s the only sunscreen my family uses and we have not had one burn in years. I truly feel like I am protecting my kiddos when I use this product on them because it is thick and I can see exactly where I am applying it.

We’ve used this for years and like it. We live in Hawaii, too. The CR study said the best spf protection comes from the chemically-based formulas, so maybe it’s a tradeoff. The chemicals are also horrible for our coral reefs. We just reapply this often, as you should anyway. We try to stick to natural formulas for the kids.

I like this sunblock. You do have to rub it in a bit.

Thanks for the helpful review Jeanette!

It’s got a good score from EWG’s skin deep

John Deere 21″ dump truck is $24.97 at Amazon and Walmart right now , it’s not the $15 that’s it’s been dropping to but if anyone is desperate for it…. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • Lizzie

Thanks for the heads up! I have time so I’m going to gamble on it going back down. Risky business 😂

      • Wren

I don’t NEED one technically so I am holding out too 😅

If you want a good sunscreen that’s not chemical free, this one is the cheapest! All spray ones and the ones that barely need rubbing in— that’s lots of chemicals. I’m not huge “crunchy” mom, but I figure a little extra effort rubbing in sunscreen is worth it in the long run(it’s thick and white!)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the review! Glad to hear you have liked this one!

    • Danielle

      Do you chemical free? 0

Anyone get theirs recently and check the expiration date?

(I’m worried it’ll be expired before next summer.. I’ve got an October baby on the way so won’t need it until then.)

    • Stefanie

A comment on the previous post said they purchased a 2-pack from Amazon 2 weeks ago and the expiration was 05/2019 (because I am the one who asked about it on that post, lol!)

    gone

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Thanks for letting us know!

  8. melloddie

Got this on the 31st for same price when I missed the one couple of days before that, so keep checking. Think it’s been coming back as they get stockage in.

  9. Laura

We use this sunscreen and it’s wonderful. We’ve never had any problems at all with it.
