Say hello to Amazon Instant Pickup! This new service is currently available for Prime Members in a few select locations like the University of California at Berkeley and there are plans to open more sites by the end of the year.

It is perfect if you’ve ever needed something quickly and just don’t have time to wait as Instant Pickup will actually have select items ready for you to pick up in 2 minutes!

To take advantage of this new service, you’ll shop using the Amazon Shopping App – choose from several hundred fast-selling items including snacks, drinks and more. I’m still wondering how this is any different from going to a STORE. Is it just me?

I would assume faster. You can probably purchase from your app/comp and then just go pick it up. no lines to pay like a regular market.

Man I wish we had this in college when I was at UC Berkeley, especially during finals. But then again I went to college when Amazon really only sold books and cds…and wifi had just become available and not many even had the technology to use it.

That’s funny. I went to college when the “world wide web” was just coming out (didn’t even call it internet).

Walmart already does this. My Walmart never has a line at the Walmart.com department. But aren’t the pick up options stores are offering now even easier? Just drive up and they bring it to your car. (I haven’t used any myself) Amazon seems a little behind on this one. I’m interest to see if it does much.
