Love warm cinnamon rolls for breakfast? 😋

If you’re like me and already dreaming of fall and of course all the delicious baking involved, consider making a pan of gooey Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast! This recipe uses a roll of pre-made bread dough from the freezer section of the grocery store for convenience, and can easily be assembled in minutes!

green apple with sugar and caramel chips

Chopped apples and caramel baking chips give these cinnamon rolls such a delicious FALL flavor, but you could also use a caramel sauce or pieces of caramel candy instead. Make sure to chop your apples pretty small so they get nice and tender in the oven.

This method for making cinnamon rolls is dangerously simple!

It just involves rolling out the defrosted dough, adding the filling, rolling it all up in a tube, then cutting your cinnamon rolls to bake.

These are definitely sweet enough on their own, but you can drizzle caramel over the top or make a cream cheese frosting. I simply melted about half a cup of additional caramel baking chips and a small amount of butter in the microwave, then drizzled over the top of my cinnamon rolls after they came out of the oven.

  4. Andrea

Looks so good! Anyone know about how long it takes the dough to defrost?

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

I spray a loaf pan with non stick spray, put one in, cover with plastic wrap in fridge overnight but I think the package says about 8 hours in fridge…

      • Andrea

        Thank you!!

    • Deb

On the kitchen counter, usually 1-2 hours. You can also put it in the fridge overnight. There are “quick defrost ” methods that use the microwave (google the topic), but I’ve never tried to do it that way.

Rhodes makes frozen cinnamon rolls! You could add apples and or other toppings for an even faster dessert!
