Have a Trader Joe’s nearby?

Through August 20th, head into Trader Joe’s where they are celebrating their 50th Birthday by offering up fresh food and more for only 50¢ each! The 50¢ items include avocados, 1 dozen large eggs, french baguettes, spaghetti, canned whole kernel corn and reusable shopping bags!

One of my sidekicks also found that they were hosting giveaways and drawings throughout the store – and a coloring contest for the kiddos! Spend more than $50 and spin the wheel for the chance to win free food and more!

The cookie butter…….. just plain awesomeness.

    • Erica (Silly Sidekick)

      YUM! 🙂

  2. Q

Wow thanks. I’m ready to run there right now.

    • Erica (Silly Sidekick)

      You’re welcome!

  3. Juliana

    Any limit to these items?

    • Me

I was wondering the same thing. Does anybody know?

    • Lyn Rogers

      5 each transaction.

      • Me

        Thank you!

    • Kristi

I bought 8 cans of corn and 10 packages of spaghetti. I don’t think they really have a limit? It would’ve been posted.

  4. Natalie

Frozen orange chicken is our favorite. It’s so good!!

  5. Jen

    Great deals!👍🏼
My kids are obsessed with the turkey corn dogs (nitrate free). Also, LOVE Jo Jos (peppermint flavor are the bomb), pancake mix, whole wheat pizza crust, and the 21 seasoning salute is amazing!!!!!

  6. Tiffany

My little one found all the Joey and got a snack sack with yummy goodies!

  7. Anna

totally unrelated- but I got an email from Amazon saying the solar eclipse glasses I got were now recalled 🙁 anyone have ideas where to get them at this point? Thanks!!!

    • Elaine

Some grocery stores are selling them. You have to ask them about it as some keep them behind the counter.

    • Kellie A Zollars

Call Seven-Eleven stores. I read they have them, but most are probably sold out by now.

    • Lo

      Library

    • Lina

The Lowe’s near me had a display of them near the entrance.

    • Carmen

Definitely check Lowe’s. One here in VA received a shipment just today. I imagine other Lowe’s locations did as well.

      • Anna

Thank you all soooo much! I will be calling around tomorrow! Thank you!!!!!!

My kids like the frozen orange chicken too. The coffee flavored popsicles disappeared from my freezer before I got to taste one so they must be good. Their bagged nuts and dried fruits are priced low too. Much cheaper unless you have coupons for elsewhere 😉
I love the packages of small cubes of frozen garlic, basil, or ginger in the freezer section. It’s in a small red ice cube looking container near the frozen veggies. The frozen garlic doesn’t have that off taste that bottled chopped garlic has.

  9. Oshea

Tomato basil marinara, orange chicken, wonton soup, any bread, frozen onion rings, onion ring snacks, banana cream yogurt, vanilla Jojos, rain forest coffee, & canned chili.

  10. lisa

Does anyone know if you can do a price match in Target or Walmart will they accept it?

    • Jenny

Probably not since most/all of trader joes brands are house brands that aren’t carried anywhere else.

does this store offer rain checks if they are out? In my neighborhood Trader Joe’s, they are always out of eggs and even told me the chicken farms in the area couldn’t keep up with the demand. I can’t imagine now with these prices. Wondering if it’s worth the trip?

The roasted red pepper spread with eggplant and garlic. It is my favorite pizza sauce. Also great for fried green tomato or zucchini parmesan, pasta, and try heating up some of your favorite meatballs in it and top with cheese for mini meatball subs. My favorite pantry item from TJs.

  13. Leigh

    Salmon jerky 😍😍😍😍

  14. Padmama

Masala veggie burger. We usually stock up
Whenever we are there. Love it.

  15. Erin

I can’t find anything about this sale on their website or Facebook page. Does anyone have a link?

    • debern

They just have a blurb on page 12 of their paper August Fearless Flyer which just says in every TJ’s store there will be “tastings & giveaways & more…” Mine is nearby so I’ll stop in tomorrow morning before the parking gets crazy. It’s just today and tomorrow the ad says.

  16. SmartShopper

No limit on the .50 cent items at my Trader Joe’s. Great deal! Love their Orange Chicken. Family favorite.

  17. Heather :)

This was great, Thanks! There did not appear to be a limit but I would feel like a jerk wiping out TJ’s shelves. 😉 I did get a few avocados but just one of each other item. The employers were pleased to see that I found them all. They are very subtly marked at my store.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Heather!

  18. Q

Chicken corn dogs and PB and J bars. My kids love those

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing their favorites! 😉

  19. Jen

I love their coconut milk. Only brand of coconut milk I can find that doesn’t have any additives like guar gum, which I can’t have. Just coconut and water. Yum. Their pineapple juice is great too… no added sugar. I use it in my green smoothies.

  20. Jan

My favorite is the orange chicken. My store had sign limit 1 and was out of French bread. I got the other items. Thank you Colin

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Jan!

  21. becca

Ours also had dozen rose bunches for $5.99. I missed the avocados 🙁

  22. Kathleen

What other items are on sale besides avocados, eggs, spaghetti, etc?

  23. Pinkie

Hummus, tea tree oil, & dark chocolate bars 3 ct.,

  24. Star

Not all Trader Joe’s have these deals. In Jacksonville Beach, Florida my mom told me they had all these sales and more. They also had free veggie dogs, ice cream and drinks. My Trader Joe’s in Albany, New York was a disappointment. They had no 50 cent deals. They did have face painting and a spin game. It was a major letdown. 😢

    • Jen R

Is that the Wolf Rd location? I was thinking of whether to go to Crossgates or Colonie today and having read this page, I was set on Colonie, but now I’m not sure.

  25. Marcia K Designs

Wine – great prices and pretty good selection too!

  26. Hill

    Everything but the bagel spice!!

  27. Vicky

Love Chicken Piccata! It’s in the refrigerated section. Microwaveable! Also the smoked salmon dip is great – sometimes it’s with refrigerated dips and sometimes it’s near the salmon and meat. My 2 faves. I now want to try theOrange Chicken.

  28. Heather

I spent $67 and my store didn’t do anything with the wheel. Was I supposed to ask?

  29. Bunny NW

The low fat chicken chow mein and asparagus risotto are both delicious! They used to have the most wonderful pineapple juice but discontinued it due to supplier issues. Also I buy the Dr. Bronner’s peppermint bar soap there, it’s the cheapest in town.

  30. Patty

50 cents for an avocado? Why does TJs have to be 25 mins from me? 😕

  31. Angela

We use the Pound Plus 72% dark chocolate as a staple! Also love their Feta salad dressing, Hummus, Tzatziki sauce, Riced cauliflower both fresh and frozen. I’m definitely trying some of the favorites all of you have shared!
