Just purchased two bottles of the $9.99 water at Walgreens and tried to use two coupons ($2 off 1). Cashier would not let me use both coupons since the coupon said “one coupon per purchase.” Even though I only got to use one $2 coupon, I am still excited to be trying this. Just read about it in a magazine!
I wish it were a requirement that checkers learn coupon lingo. I just went through the same scenario at Walgreens. If the coupon says “per purchase” that just means that you can use 1 coupon per item specified. You made 2 purchases, so you should have been able to use both coupons. Now if the coupon stated “per transaction”, then you could only use 1 coupon…..Next time, you may want to ask for a manager, they usually put the coupons through without any hassle.
