Is Starbucks Discreetly Raising Prices?

Starbucks lovers, you may need to grab some extra coins from the change jar! ☕️

Rumor has it that Starbucks has discreetly raised the prices on select sizes of drip coffee, espresso drinks, cookies, and bacon Gouda breakfast sandwiches by 10% this past week. Thanks to the excitement surrounding the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, you may not have noticed this change.

With this increase, Starbucks mochas and lattes (including the Pumpkin Spice Latte ) may soon cost 10¢ to 30¢ more at select locations and the bacon Gouda breakfast sandwich could range from $3.45 to $4.95 depending on your location. Additionally, Starbucks-brand cookies may increase by about 30¢ each. See the articles here and here for more information.

Starbucks coffee is burnt and bitter- just like how you feel, when you see how much you spent on it each month. Dunkin all the way, or better yet- independent coffee shops!

I only go occasionally for a special treat. And they seem to treat their employees well. Don’t they offer free college? If the costs get too crazy then people will stop going.

As much as we love coffee for those of you who brew at home…I’m sure that they have noticed a hike in coffee cans….and it’s an alternative to spending a lot at brand name coffee houses….

I have never understood the Starbucks obsession, but then again I’m more for supporting a small-town, local business than a big corporation. I’m so thankful that I do not like coffee. HUGE money saver for me!

I rarely go to Starbucks – even in airports. Occasionally I have a craving for a chai tea latte and will give in. But that only happens like once a year. I get Kcups from Intelligent Blends online and pay no more than 39 cents per cup. It’s freshly roasted right before shipping and tastes great.

So glad I’m not a fan of Starbucks! Saves the wallet and my hips! A few times a year my husband will get me a caramel frapp, but that’s about it.

I’m spoiled! My husband is a coffee roaster so Starbucks doesn’t even tempt me. Sad that they are raising prices on their (already IMO, overpriced) coffee, etc. FYI: Chef Devin Alexander has a great recipe hack of their pumpkin bread that I think tastes way better than theirs. Just sayin’….

If you like Starbucks coffee/espresso but don’t like the price—–>
A pound of Dark Espresso Roast is around $13 and they grind it for you. This lasts me about 2 months ( I drink espresso or make macchiatos at least once a day). That’s 0.22 per cup vs $2.50 at Starbucks.
Making my coffee at home I spend $78 for coffee for the whole year rather than $900.That’s $822 in savings every year!

Wow! I had my first Starbucks and my first Pumpkin Spice coffee. It was okay but I had to add some more sugar and creamer to get it down. Way to strong for my taste. Was sorely disappointed. Glad I didn’t buy it, my boss bought it for me cause he thought I would like to try it.

I like Starbucks, but I’ll only go if I have a gift card. There are too many other places that have good (or better coffee) for less money.

Last week McDonalds started selling lattes, macchiattos, and everything else that Starbucks sells & its cheaper too. The app has good deals too. I think they were giving away free McCafe beverages with a purchase the last two weeks! Dunkin Donuts sell cheaper coffee and it taste great if the right person makes the drink. Hot or ice coffee needs flavor & it taste horrible w/o it. Articial sweeteners are bad too because its fake food. DD has more deals, easier reward system, game day promos & more accessible! SB is a treat.
