is it cheaper than costco one

      • Jess

I was wondering the same thing COSTCO IS CHEAPER, not by much but it is almost 24 cents an oz. this is almost 25 cents an oz.

The Costco price is 17.99 for the Costco brand, but it is higher in ounces. The site shows 84oz, can’t rem if that’s the same in the warehouse. I do know it’s greater than 54oz

    • Paul

The Kirkland organic virgin coconut oil from Costco is 84oz from the warehouse.

The Costco ones are “Refined” these are unrefined

    • rosie

Actually, the Kirkland coconut oil I bought is cold pressed, unrefined and chemical free.. USDA organic.

    • Nicole

Our 84oz Kirkland brand one from Costco is unrefined.

I bought huge tub last time it was on sale and have tons of it. Any suggestions on how to use it before it goes bad (I assume it goes rancid after a while)

    • Elena

I use it when I make granola or any Asian food. I also replace canola oil in muffins or pancakes. I love using it as a moisturizer on my legs after I shave (a little goes a long way).

Make sugar or salt scrubs, a hair mask, use as moisturizer, cook popcorn with it…those are my favorite uses. In my experience I have never had it go rancid, and it take me a while to go through a jar. If you are careful not to contaminate the jar with water or food, and it is not refined, it should last a long time.

I use it to replace butter in a lot of baking recipes. I use it also for moisturizing after a shower.
you can also use it for oil pulling and i heard of someone who did it regularly for a long time and actually reversed some gum issues – dentist was pleasantly surprised to see what happened

Thanks everyone! I tried the pulling with it but it was hard to tolerate that long. I got it for popcorn popping but how much popcorn does one pop annually? 🙂 I have used it for other things (like I read if you put it in warm white rice then refrigerate for 24 hrs, it is supposed to not break down to sugar immediately when you eat it) but then it got a bad rap with the science world so I didn’t use it as much. Obviously I’m not using it in excess so I could probably go back and try using it again. I never think to use it in recipes. And I do have a Small tub of it in the bathroom (for when I was doing the pulling) so I’ll try that on my skin. Thanks for all the ideas.

Unfortunately, Amazon did not keep this price. I added it to my Subscribe & Save and am glad I just checked it. They are charging me $50.47 for the 2 pack! Cancelling it.
