Can someone give me some feedback are these good for app’s and kiddos?

    • MrsC

I love ours it has good apps and we can watch our movies!

    • Michelle

These are great for controlling content. Especially if you get free time unlimited. My kids get a bunch of those sago mini apps for free, and my baby watches a bucnch of free videos of umi Zumi and such. The iPad is harder to limit to kids’ apps. I got the kid covers.

    • Sarah

The best part is it is cheap. If the kids break it, it doesn’t hurt so bad. I find that setting up the parental controls and kid features is a little confusing. The kids will ask me to put in the passcode to watch a watch and unknowingly I have purchased, but that might just be are fault. We love apple products, but for kids and the price I think it is worth it. I have also noticed that the charging port doesn’t fit nice and tight anymore, but it still charges.

I bought it for my 3.5 year old daughter at the time. Pros: Very Durable, inexpensive, freetime unlimited for 2 years. It never once got broken and she was rough with it as Is her brother. Cons: Paying for Freetime once the two years ends, they don’t have as many apps (Vudu especially because she watches a lot of our digital copies of movies on there). Overall it is a great choice for young kids and very durable. Since my daughter is almost 6 now she is saving half for an IPad. I’ll pay the other half since I feel like she can take care of it better now and her little brother can use the kid’s tablet.

just got the HD 8 today, LOVE it, perfect size for movies, games etc. went with this bc 16 vs 8 and larger screen for only $20 more. Highly recommend, thx for the post.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy to hear that Jen! YW!

There is extra $20/$30 off for 7in/8in if you use Amex points/card to pay for it with coupon code FIRE7TAB for 7 in and FIRE8TAB for 8 in. I ordered it yesterday, will deliver tomorrow.

    • Denise

I called Amex yest. b/c I didn’t have any points to take advantage of this great deal. They told me I have 333 pending points and they won’t show up until Sept. 20th..AFTER this deal expires. I wish there was a way around this. I love my old Kindle and wanted to update.

      • H

Thanks for sharing your call. I JUST used all my points a few weeks ago (of course) and am in the same boat. For now on, I’m always going to leave a few points behind, but that of course doesn’t help this time!

        • Denise

I will do the same… Who knew?

    • Niki

I have Amex but when I log into my account it says I only have 30 percent of amazon subscriptions? Am I looking at the wrong place?

      • Denise

        Call Amex..that’s what I did.

      • Stephanie

This was a deal from Amazon for me, not one on my amx card page. If you have your card on your Amazon account you should be able to enter the codes above and then use your available points to pay. HTH

    • Melissa

You just saved me an additional $30 – Thanks so much for this tip, Candy!!!

    • Sarah

So what did that bring your total to?

    • Lynne

Thank you so much. I saved an additional 30.00 making my total 25.00👍

    • Sharina

Thanks Candy! I used 1 point and got 2 of the 7’s as a birthday gift for both of my kids this month for $33 (10% tax in IL) 😺

    • Sarah

Thanks Candy for the AMEX details! Paid $1.00 in points and was out the door with an 8in for $25!!!

  4. Flmomof2

Thanks, I think I’ll be getting 2 this weekend for an upcoming birthday!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re very welcome! 🙂

My kids have our old IPad 2 which is super slow. How would this compare?

  6. Q

We ordered the 8 for our son. Who has just recently broke his iPad and has been constantly concerned with getting a new one. Hope this helps. Thanks again.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re most welcome! Happy you could snag it for him!

  7. maggie

My AE card uses reward dollars program instead of points. So is there anyway to enjoy the deal too?thanks

    • Niki

Anyone know if there’s a limit??

American Express -not AMerican eagle (AE) works the same but you’ll be able to see once you add it to Amazon and apply the code. I saw immediately. Hope that helps.

    • Denise

I would call them to find out..

  8. sarah

Do you have to add this to your phone plan, like an ipad? We have Prime and wifi, could you access the internet with it? Thanks for the help!

    • Denise

      No…Just use your wifi…

  9. jill

I have the wrong am ex account -I get dollars instead of points so it doesn’t work – I called just in case it could be added to my account.

    • maggie

      thanks. same here. : 0

  10. Amy

Thank you! I used $0.39 in points and got the $30 discount using my American Express. Total was $26 for one fire 8. Another Christmas present checked off!

Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.

As a Newbie, I am constantly browsing online for articles that can aid me. Thank you
