I am a little confused, Sprint’s “free” family plan for 3 lines is $130? I pay $100 for 3 lines with TMobile One. Maybe it is cost effective compared to Verizon prices.

    • allyson

Free until Sept 2018, then 3 lines would be $130. Much better prices than AT&T and Verizon for sure!

Xfinity mobile.. got 5 LG Xcharge phones for $5 total shipped, (usually $180 each) 3 lines over the last 4 months paid $19.50 per month total after taxes. No contract, no activation fees, they only use Verizon cell towers and we are so happy with this. I got a $50 Fandango gift card in EVERY phone box when I opened them. What I have in cell phone costs and service paid for my internet and cable. Yay!!!!! http://www.xfinity.com/mobile/shop
You must be a Xfinity/Comcast internet subscriber for this.

      • heather

We have xfinity mobile as well-there isn’t a better deal out there.

      • Paulina

My husband got the LG X Charge as well for $1 with Xfinity mobile, I tried ordering another after he received his on the mail and it was out of stock πŸ™
He’s only had it for 1 week.

      • Frances

I’ve never heard of Xfnity mobile. Is that available to everyone? Just wondering. I have Verizon myself and Verizon is probably one of the more expensive cell phone companies but to me it’s worth it.

      • Allison

I’m confused…how are you paying $20 for 3 lines??? I need this but not seeing this deal.

  2. allyson

I would totally leave at&T, my contract is up this month, but the Sprint coverage map doesn’t look good at all for me.

    • Cassandra

Sprint sucks. I have it and unless you are on a popular highway, you’re barely covered for phone. Forget wifi/data. I only keep it because my boss pays for it.

      • L.G.

I agree. I had them for years and I had dropped calls, static, other people’s conversations coming onto my line. I complained till my call was escalated to the right person and got out of my contract months early for free. Switched to Verizon and yes I pay more but the service is worth it. I haven’t had a dropped call in 3 years and it’s very rare that I don’t have 4g coverage. I have to be in the boonies to not have coverage.

    • Amy

I live in the middle of nowhere, my mom lives in a different part of the state also in the middle of nowhere and I never have once had anything but perfect reception and LTE data at either place. The only place I’ve ever had an issue in the 7 years I’ve had Sprint was in the Adirondack mountains.

    • Kristy

Me too. Sprint coverage map is terrible here. I pay $200 for 3 lines unlimited talk/text/data with AT&T. We live in a rural area with no internet available (well there is but it’s expensive and slooooow) so our phones are our hot spots for internet.

  3. Holly

Yes. I pay 140 for a large data plan with 2 phones and have ATT. We had sprint but switched stupidly thinking we would have better service but it turns out it was our physical area. I enjoyed sprint with no issues for 4 years previous

  4. Jeni

Any deals for the new iPhones???? 😊

    • msalba

I’m also hoping for this too! I currently have tmobile and have a iphone 6.. thinking to trade it in or whatever.. but 1 year of free service? is tempting..

    • Shaheena

AT&T is offering them bogo if you have directv or U-verse!

    • Melanie

Sprint has iPhone 8 and 8 plus 50% off starting today.

Sprint coverage is terrible. If I didn’t get my bill paid by work I would switch. πŸ˜•

  7. Rios

Sprint data is garbage. At&t is way better than Sprint.

  8. Robyn

I once had sprint I left them after 10+ years after they wouldn’t fix or even replace my mom brand new iPhone 7 plus they tried telling her that she needed to take it to apple and pay money to fix the phone and this was even with us paying monthly fees for insurance

  9. Heather

Stay away from sprint!! I had Verizon for years and years and my husband was tired of paying such a high bill so he made us switch. My phone never works on data phone won’t ring but then I will have a voicemail. It’s just terrible he doesn’t like to admit bc we are stuck now but I can’t wait to have verizon back it’s worth the price for your phone to actually work!!

  10. GrlRcr

I’ve been a sprint customer since 2005! and it’s really worth it to me. Currently in Amsterdam for work and I still get free text and data plus my calls are only 20 cents a minute if I wanted to make any. Go with Verizon and you could find yourself with an $800 phone bill like my friend. Do what you want, but I will never change carriers.

    • Mel

Can I ask how you’re getting free text and data over there? Is it a special plan? I have sprint open world for Canada but didn’t think it applied in Europe….thanks πŸ™‚

    • Jedd

This may sound weird, but I’m curious….why are you reading H2S blog if you’re in Amsterdam? Aren’t most of the deals for US stores like Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc? I’ve never been to the Netherlands so forgive my question if it’s a dumb one.

      • K

They said they are in Amsterdam for work, not that they live there. They may just be there temporarily.

  11. Tina

I have a Verizon phone for work and my husband switched to Sprint. I have to admit that he has similar coverage with his Sprint phone. We always compare and I don’t hunk sprint is much different. There are areas where sprint is worse and other areas where it has better coverage than Verizon.

  12. Jenny

I’m hoping other carriers will offer something similar so I can switch from Sprint to someone else!!

    • Mel

Me too!! I’ve been hearing all these good things about tmobile lately (not just tmobile tuesdays) and thinking about looking into it.

  13. Teresa

I checked 4 phones and none of them were elegable even though they have a sim card, one was even a old sprint phone. They want me to buy a phone from them, so not worth it, I would pay more for the phone than I now pay for a year of service.

  14. Momx3

Sprint customer service is absolutely horrible. I have been trying for over a month to get my phone unlocked. I switched carriers after 10 years with them. (Because their customer service is so unbearable.) I have a zero balance with them-everything completely paid in full and they STILL have not unlocked it. I was on the phone for a total of 10 hours trying to resolve the issue. I still have not heard from a supervisor regardless of asking for a call back from one on three separate occasions.

  15. Kay

I had Sprint for two years and the lack of coverage was frustrating. I switched because it was cheaper than Verizon but I reliable cell phone is more important to me.The best decision I ever made was to switch to Verizon prepaid. I used to pay $200 per month for two lines with shared data. I now pay $100 total and get more data individually. I have never had any issues with coverage or customer service with Verizon, whether I was under a contract or since switching to prepaid. I have also heard some companies like Cricket, Total Wireless etc use the same towers as the larger cell phone companies.

    • JA

I have cricket and they use at&t towers. I only have problems at my dad’s house but he lives on a mountain in the woods so Im not surprised. We have 4 lines unlimited talk and text, 4 gigs data per line then it slows down (although none of us notice a difference) for $100 a month. Fees included.

  16. Jen

Sprint customer service reps are a nightmare. Just a month after switching to them I had issues with my bill too, and again about 3 months later…πŸ™„ I suppose it’s like this with many cell phone providers though.

    • Melanie

I have been with sprint to many years and when I had huge problems and did not get call backs from supervisors I went to sprint.com and on the website posted all my problems with them and got feed back with in an hour and they corrected everything and gave credits for the problems that caused the issues.

  17. Haley

Sprint coverage is terrible here so can’t consider the offer. Right now I have total wireless $35 a month unlimited talk & text, 5 gigs of data..

  18. Amy

So many people on here saying the coverage is bad, but my experience is the opposite. I live in the country in the middle of nowhere and never have once had an issue in 7 years. My mom lives in a completely different part of the state but also out in the middle of nowhere where she can’t even get cable or Internet and I’ve still never had anything but perfect reception and LTE data at either place. They don’t throttle unlimited data either. My only complaint is that they no longer offer the contract upgrades. I have refused to upgrade due to this bc I’m not paying $700+ for a dang phone, even if it’s spread out in payments. Not happening

    • K

That may be your experience but it’s not the same for everyone.

  19. mindi

I currently have Sprint and am looking to get out, lol. Coverage really stinks where I am. And everywhere I go. Frustrating. Great deal for people in a good coverage area. I almost wouldnt keep Sprint if it was free. I switched from Verizon because our rate was slashed 50%. Almost doesnt feel worth it. :/

  20. Annie

textnow wireless. i pay 14/month for unlimited everything, it uses my wifi on my farm at home for an always boosted cell signal. We absolutely love it. use code Annie6 if you try it,out . we both will get $20 in our account if you do!

  21. Kim

This has been offered for a few months. I switched two months ago. Service is totally fine in Chicago and my bill is $13 just for taxes. I came from Verizon. Service is just as good in Chicago.

    • justpeg8

Kim, is the $13 for taxes for just 1 phone line or more than 1 line?

    • Amber

I’m wondering the same thing. We currently have 5 phone lines. Would it be $13 for EACH line or all of them??
