I have only been successful once with ordering Add-on items through my Dot. I tried to order this and it changed the price by 50 cents. Anyone else have issues ordering Add-on items through their Echo? Most of the time the Alexa will say it doesn’t know/have the product.
Alexa adds in the tax when it asks for a confirmation of your order. That maybe why you got a 50c difference.
Brilliant NL! That explains it. Now, if I could just get Alexa to find the Add-on items I ask “her” to! Alexa only found that one after suggesting about 5 other brands at higher prices.

I said “Alexa, order seawood” then she gave me Jayone seaweed as her 2nd choice.
I said “order”, she said “what would you like me to order”, I said “Jayone seaweed”, she immediately found it (it may have something to do with me having it in my cart). The purchase wasnt from my cart, the cart items were still there after the Alexa order was complete.
