Hi there! It’s Mary, one of Collin’s Sidekicks!
A couple Christmases ago, I asked Santa for a fitness tracker so that I could get better about tracking my daily activity. At the time, I hadn’t really done much research and wasn’t even sure if I wanted a FitBit or an Apple Watch, but to my surprise, I ended up receiving both items for Christmas that year!
Which one did I keep?
Now it’s years later, and I am still in love with my Apple Watch… it has been a game changer in my fitness journey! My hubby bought me the Series 1 Sport version with the simple black sport band, and even though the Apple Watch Series 3 will be released soon (umm – it looks amazing! 😱), my little black watch is still chugging along great and serves me well. Why upgrade if it ain’t broke, right?!
I love to run and am training for a half marathon in January, so I personally love this watch for my daily runs, tracking my heart rate and movement, reminding me to get up and walk around, the built-in workout app, the step counter, the health app (can use on iPhone to track monthly progress) and so much MORE! I previously used a Garmin Forerunner 220 during runs, but haven’t looked back since!
Plus, I love being able to stay on top of my text messages and app notifications, even when my phone is somewhere else in the house or if I forget to turn it off silent (whoops – that happens often!).
With the convenient notifications, I can get alerted whenever I receive a text message or phone call, whenever someone comments on my Instagram page, whenever someone is at my front door (via the Ring Doorbell app), whenever there’s an important news alert… the list goes on!
If you’re on the fence about an Apple Watch and/or wandering what features are in these watches OR if you should ask Santa for an Apple Watch this year, let me just tell you right now! 😀 They are awesome! And, as you can see, I don’t go often without my watch and hate not wearing it (but maybe I should try to work on that watch tan though? 😂 ).
