I would also take note of motor size this one is a 450watt which is a great middle ground(as are those with 350/375 motors). I have the smaller one that on black friday works out to about $100 and it has a 275watt motor and it is just NOT enough for thicker cookie dough or heavy bread dough. I have found myself having use the wood spoons for cookie dough and kneading bread doughs by hand. I am going to be up grading possibly the model Costco carries which is I believe is a 600watt motor mainly because it is consistantly the cheapest and I have taken to making double loaf bread recipes so a big motor and big bowl is needed.

Whoops! That was meant for the comment thread below, sorry!

Does anyone have this mixer or know much about this one? My daughter is really wanting one but I am not sure if this is a good choice. Any info/opinions would be appreciated!!

I have a smaller one, from my wedding registry 17 years ago and it is amazing. It was about this cost back then. I use mine 2-3 times per month (waffle batter, whipped potatoes, banana bread, regular bread) and almost always use the extra bowl I have. I want this one!!! It seems like a great deal but get an extra bowl, too.

Wait till Black Friday… Kohls…u will get the 6qt professional bowl lift for the same price(after Kohls cash)

I got this one 3yrs ago when target had it this price. We love it and use it almost everyday. We are a family of 6 and make a lot from scratch. Mine came with the 6qt even though I ordered the 5qt. They were out of 5qt so I got a free upgrade. The professional series the 6qt and 5qt are interchangeable. So if she wanted a bigger bowl later on she would just have to buy the bigger bowl. Honestly I love this mixer!!! One of the best kitchen investments I have ever made. It has paid for itself over and over again being able to make stuff easily from scratch instead of buying the item.

Hi Collin the description is incorrect. This is a bowl lift design, not tilt head design. What a fantastic price for the professional series!

what’s the difference between the two? which one is better? in terms of easy working with, and less mess up :)? Would like to send out as a gift. Thanks

i think this is the last black Friday price , right?

      thank you

The head tilt is just that, the whole top Folds back off the bowl. The bowl lift brings the bowl up onto the mixer head. I had the tilt for 9 years, until it broke. I replaced it last black Friday with the larger lift model and love it. I didn’t look at the size of this one, but the bigger bowl on my mixer is fantastic. It fits 3 loaves of quick bread easily. My old one could barely fit 2. But it does struggle with smaller quantities. I actually purchased an attachment for small things like whipped cream.

      • Gerta

@Maggie. I think it’s a personal preference as whether to get the bowl lift vs. head tilt. Last Black Friday I purchased the bowl lift. I struggled getting it off and on so unfortunately had to return it. The head tilt is much easier to use for me. I’d suggest going online and reading reviews for both types so you can get a good idea of what you think will work best for you. Whenever I’m making a major purchase, I tend to look at what the negative reviews are. That way I can determine if a specific model has chronic problems or not.

Oops! Thanks for catching that. I am updating the post now.

I have this exact one. It’s the bowl lift design. So basically the head never moves but the bowl lifts up and down. And I agree with above comments it does struggle with smaller quantities. Doesn’t mix well. But we also bought the kitchen aid hand held mixer and it’s the best option for smaller quantities. Larger mixes this works great with. It’s kind of hard to get the attachments off because you have to twist them off and then pull them down into the bowl dipping it into whatever you just mixed and then turn it sideways to pull it out. But otherwise I was happy with this purchase. This also has the attachment on the front to buy all the extras for LIKE the pasta maker and bread maker and so on.

So then the tilt head would be the way to go? Easier to swap stuff?.

      • Erin

I’ve never tried the lift one so I can’t speak to that, but I love my tilt one. I’ve had it for eight years. My mom’s had hers for about forty years and still going strong! Lol.

  5. Ann

Thank you, Becky. I used the shutterfly Ibotta code.

I had the tilt for 15 years and loved it. I upgraded to the 6 quart lift last December. I love both. I will say for single or even double batches, the tilt mixed better. If I’m making 1 batch of cream cheese frosting which takes 1 stick of butter and 1 bar of cream cheese, the 6 quart does not properly mix it. If most of your batches are larger, than opt for the 6 quart lift. My smaller tilt head served my family of 6 quite well.

I have 3 so yeah. What size is yours?

  7. kdeen

I would love to have one
