Went to their site and it said this deal is expired? ☹️☹️☹️

I’m still finding this deal available as I click through. The sale only applies to select tires, is it possible there are just none available for your make and model of car?

Not that it’s a huge deal but it’s .01 online and in store for me

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing! I am finding the details to list 1 cent per tire, 4 cents for all four tires.

      • Kylie Jay

Oh I’m sorry! You adding them together went over my head lol

        • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

          No worries! 😉

I brought 3 cars there for new tires. All 3 cars had to be thought back because the tires were not installed properly. We didn’t feel anything till we did highway driving. My daughter had to pull over because her car shook so badly. I went to pick her up and had her drive my car. Hard to believe, I would never go back there.

Oh no! So sorry to hear they were not properly installed 🙁 Thanks for sharing your experience Cate!

Check Discount Tires for tire specials(if u have one). Specials include prepaid visa(got $75 last month w/ purchase of 4 tires), free install & recycling old ones for a low cost($7).

What is the total for buying 4 tires for a sedan? Or a ballpark of the total?

We purchased 4 Michelin Defender tires in September when they had this rebate along with $.01 installation per tire. We were super excited about receiving such a good deal on a great set of tires. We were told it would be about a week for them to arrive. Two weeks later (& after checking in at the tire center desk a few times) the manager finally called Michelin & we were told it would be another 6-8 weeks! The whole point of getting the new tires in September was so my husband could travel safely to work in our crazy Wisconsin winters (he spends 2 hours in the car every day). We are kind of in a pickle & not sure what to do since they are such a good price at Costco. If purchasing the tires I would make sure they are in stock unless you are not in a hurry. Just wanted to share my experience!

Thanks for the warning! Great tip!

We buy tires all the time @ Sam’s for our 4-wheelers and vehicles. Sam’s prices on Michelin and other types seriously beat Costco’s prices so please check both places first.

    • Lana

You have to keep a current membership to use the tire package though. We had a set installed the wrong direction there and it ruined the tires. Never again Sam’s.

I got this deal last month and was better than any other deal I could find. And the service was superb!!!

Just have to say how disappointed I am with Michelin after I bought their top of the line Defenders which were warrantied for 90K and they had to be replaced at 47K due to wear. I’m not impressed.

I’m not seeing the 4 cent deal. It looks like I’m being charged $56 for installation.

    • Kimberly (Stylish Sidekick)

Oh darn! Sorry to hear that Beth. I wonder if it’s because there aren’t any available for the make and model of your car.

      • Beth

Ack! Operator error. I spoke too soon. The discount is not explicitly stated as 4 cents in the shopping cart BUT when I divide my total by 4 (for the four tires), the total comes out as just 4 cents extra. Looks like it worked just fine. 🙂

Everyone said all the horror stories of purchasing from Costco tires… we wanted the Michelin XLT s for our van. Costco was 200$ cheaper than discount tire, tire pros, and my local Chrysler dealership.
We purchased through Costco despite the hesitation I figured $200.0 was worth me being patient. We purchased our tires on sat – they were installed on Wednesday (only took an hour with an appointment )!! They also fill with nitrous which is great in western Wisconsin (no fluctuations in the tire air with temp). I would check with your local Costco on the time line.. my Costco is Maplewood, MN .

    • Steph-B

I would purchase again and was very happy with customer service… Costco is great about customer service that one of the many reason I love Costco!!

I have a high $ per capita Costco Auto Center that has yet to screw anything up that I’ve been going to… They blew it… They didn’t tell me that their Michelin X-Tour A/S H+T tires were rebranded Defender H+Ts… Consumer Reports’ top-rated A/S tire! Missed the sale AND the $0.01 installation… Stay away from the Ecopia EP422 & 422+, they’re bad news compared to quite a few tires and I’m on the hunt to replace some OEM 422s because their dry traction even sucks.

Costco’s warranty is second to none. Had a single tire fail (road hazard that wasn’t safe to repair). had 40% of the tread life left. All four cost me over $600 with the sales tax. $220 for all four to be replaced due to a “cross tread” warranty (when a tread pattern doesn’t match it’s replacement, they replace two so that the matching treads will both be in the front or back for handling stability). Discount Tire, when asked about their Continentals I was shopping out, didn’t know of such a thing and wouldn’t have done it.

The only thing I need to take note of is that they’re saying to keep track of alignment checks because warranties will depend on it.
