    • Love H2S

Me neither! I have not even heard of most of these! I am in Milwaukee. Apparently I need to get out more!

      • Lori

I dont know these stores either, I’m in TN.

        • Kathryn

          Ditto…

      • Nicki

I’m in Milwaukee, Woodmans wouldn’t give anything away. I thought Piggly Wiggly did last year but i guess not

  2. Victoria W. C.

Thanks H2S, will have to check out my local HEB store as I don’t have an Albertsons or Safe way affiliate nearby.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome!

    • Yvette89

We have Randall’s though . It’s one of it’s affiliates, I’m in Houston

  3. Marcia

Hy-Vee has purchase a Hormel Cure 81 boneless whole ham at $3.99 a pound and receive a Honeysuckle
White frozen turkey 10 to 14 lbs. free.

  4. Ashley

I’m in North Dakota and our hugos store is doing the buy a ham get a turkey free.

    • Deona

I was about to post that too! Seems like a good deal if you need both.

  5. Tiggy

Target has turkeys this week for .69/lb….that a good price for my area.

  6. Kristin

The ShopRites in Central CT you need to spend $400 to qualify

    • Karen

      Holy moly!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    • coolrocks

      ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

    • Jim

      That seems excessive.

    • Daniela

Likewise ShopRite Northern NJ. I have stopped trying since Acme took over Pathmark and A& P and offer the $100 coupon. $400 is ridiculous. And this is what you spend after coupons so it takes the full amount.

      • melissa

I’ve done three of my weekly coupon matchup shopping trips since the deal started at shop rite. I only buy the freebie deals, close to freebie deals and some sale items and managers special meat. I spend around $30 a week and I already have $200 towards my $300 threshold. I’m glad it counts before my coupons!

    • Cristine

That’s dumb. Lol $400 is just crazy for only a turkey that’s worth probably like $15 to $20 max.

      • Yvette89

Exactly who really is throwing that big of a shindig, most families do the potluck type of gathering and for people like me it’s just me my husband and our two small children so it’s not necessary to go all out or else well be eating Thanksgiving food until December ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  7. Laura M Villotta

Aldis will have them pretty cheap, but be there early as they will go fast. I am hoping to get my hands on their prime rib this year. U see people hauling them out by the cart fuls. When they are gone that is it. Watch the ads.

  8. JA

The only participating store near me is so expensive that isn’t even worth it, imo. My husband actually gets a free turkey from his work though-surprising in this day and age. He will get a ham for Christmas as well. The problem is that they don’t distribute the frozen turkeys until the Monday before Thanksgiving which has proven to not be enough time to thaw! So I buy one to serve and put his in the deep freezer for January. What a nice problem to have!

    • Susi

You can fill up 1 of those storage type tubs with lukewarm water and a frozen solid 15 pound turkey will thaw out in less than 24 hours! I just put the tub in bathtub so I donโ€™t have to haul that thing to dump anywhere. HTH

      • Lori

        Great idea, thanks Susi!

    • anna

If you change your mind there is a way to thaw it in 5 hours. I called butterball (or call the number on the turkey) and there are very nice people that will help you thaw it in just a few hours. It does sound like you have a good plan though but if you are ever stuck that does work.

  9. Stacy R

Check your local Hy-Vee this week!

    • Bee0619

      Thank you for reminding me!

  10. Heather C

Work @ Costco…..they give you one. We are 7 miles from Santa Rosa (had her bags packed in case we need to evacuate for the fire) so we will donate ours to fire victims.

    • Catherine

Wow. That is so sweet of you to think of spreading some holiday cheer. Keep up the good work Heather! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Karensv

Most Shoprite’s in New Jersey, you have to reach 400.00 in sales but you have 5 weeks to do it and it’s before all coupons, so it’s not really that hard to earn.

    • Daniela

I have gone this past week 3 times and the bottom of my receipt tracks what I spend after coupons.

  12. Laura

Oh i loooooove my HEB!!!! This is how I get my turkey for thanksgiving and ham for Christmas, EVERY YEAR!!!!

    • Laura

I would like to encourage everyone, if you have an HEB near you, to buy from them! I’m sure yall already know how awesome this grocery store is, but after HUrricane Harvey, I shop no where else. They were sooooooooooo generous before, during and after the storm to everyone. They kept stocking their shelves tirelessly. They DID NOT inflate prices. In fact, they lowered prices and in affected areas, they GAVE AWAY FOOD & NECCESITIES. They are a chain in South Texas and when the Hurricane hit Florida, they sent truckloads of food and supplies all the way to Florida. I can’t say enough how great they are. No I don’t work there, never have, but I was so amazed and floored by their actions that I wanted to spread it. โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

      • Chantel

I typically shop at the military commissary, but I do love HEB. They have the best produce and unlike every other store in San Antonio, they have an actual butcher and process meat products on site.

  13. Tracy

I’m well on my way to get one from shoprite!

  14. Valerie H

My Safeway has free turkeys this week (until Nov 7). Spend $100 and get a 16 pound or smaller turkey for free or spend $150 and get a 16 pound or larger turkey for free. You do have to spend the full amount AFTER discounts and coupons for it to work so be careful.

  15. Leona

Wow, Turkey deals are harder to come by every year it seems. Hoping that next week looks better!

  16. mommyx4

Thanks i usually make 3 turkeys a year and always looking for super good deals so excited to save some money

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re very welcome!

  17. floridagld

Wasted click for me..haha..none of these stores in Florida

  18. Amy

Have a bunch of kids and get on welfare? That’s how my friend does it. She even gets a smart phone for FREE. Why does she get a smart phone? Why not just a landline or wait a phone without all the bell and whistles? I’m the stupid friend. I’m waiting to have kids and I actually go to work. She has a better cell phone then I do. But we are friends so I’m just venting here. Maybe she will realize that she needs to step up and be a contributing member of society. Fingers crossed she quits telling me to have kids and get on the system. Well wish me luck. Have a great day everyone! God bless.

    • amy111

I understand your frustration and see a lot of that in my city too. I don’t know if I could hear that without flipping out, lol, but as a friend you are allowed to say “please keep your views to yourself, because I work hard for my money, thank you”. You are a good friend ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck!

    • cath

Hit a nerve there, very frustrating.

  19. Ashley C

Love H-E-B! But I hate spiral cut ham and thatโ€™s all they ever offer. Dries out more, I typically pay less buying a normal ham and a sale Turkey.

  20. hellfire gainz

Why spend $100 when you can just buy the turkey ๐Ÿ˜‚

    • melissa

It’s not a goal to spend hundreds to get a free turkey. Everyone shops. You shop like you usually do and chances are you’ll reach the amount needed.

  21. Nels

FYI I just bought a 13 lbs frozen turkey from Walmart for $9 yesterday.

  22. Aleshiaj77

This is come in handy! We are doing a fried and smoked turkey this year!!

  23. AZinOZ

We don’t have any of those stores in my area. I need to find a good deal on turkeys to donate to my church.

  24. amy111

Meijer usually has turkeys for .49/lb with a $20 purchase, which is easy to do.

  25. Brittany

At Kroger when you purchase a Springfield Spiral Sliced Ham you get a 10-14lb grade a turkey free!

  26. Jennifer

At my Weis you get 10 reward points for every $100 you spend…wish it was still for every $50๐Ÿ˜•

  27. AOhio

What is a “good price” for a frozen turkey? How much per pound?
