Was waiting for this. My daughter and I are going to do it as we both don’t know much about her father’s heritage. Can’t wait!

  2. Tucker

They are charging $5 shipping per kit! Comes to $64.87

    • katemeowmama

That is interesting…. I was charged $9 for shipping…. I wonder why? I live in the lower 48 states so I wouldn’t think the shipping would vary.

  3. Kelly

This is a great price, last year they were on sale for $79.

  4. MeShell

    Oh wow thanks for posting

    • Jennifer (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome, MeShell!

  5. Shelley

Did anyone notice that it says authorizing ancestry DNA to charge account for future payments when checking out with kit? Kinda concerned about this.

  6. Jasmin

Great price. I was very surprised with my results.

  7. Elizabeth M

Nice! Thus will be a fun gift for the family.

  8. Tina

I️ was planning to do this but talked to 2 different people that were not happy. Vague results, not at all like advertised

  9. Nina

Yea this sounds a bit fishy to me. I don’t see how they can get accurate results.

  10. Gentle

My husband and I have both done this. I was a little suspicious of the accuracy but my husband took it first & it was pretty spot on. He already knew his family history. So I felt like I could pretty much trust what mine would say. I pretty much knew my dad’s side & those nationalities showed up. I wasn’t sure what to expect for my mom’s side (we’d heard conflicting stories of her side) but the other nationalities it showed for me did fit one of the stories we’d been told. So it’s not extremely detailed but I do feel like it’s pretty accurate.

    I’m on the fence.

    • Jennifer (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome!

  13. Toni

These kits are great, I found out so much and connected with family whom I had no idea about, these are real because not only did I do 23 and me as well but I ran it through ged match…spot on! I have purchased 3 from them, tested my eldest and my dad:)

    • Jennifer (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Thanks for the feedback, Toni!

    • Mushu

Toni… What’s the difference between 23 & Me and this one?

  14. Stacy

I have a friend who ultimately found her birth parents by locating cousins thru ancestry dna test. She was adopted. Obviously she supports these kits.

  15. Melissa

Wondering how his one compares to myheritage and 23andme etc? Want to orderOne today for a gift

    • Lynn

There are several YouTube videos that compare these kits. Would highly recommend watching them to help you make your decision.

  16. Christi

I have been wanting to do this for years! Thanks!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Oh perfect! You’re welcome Christi!

  17. Julie Baer

Was wondering if you needed an ancestry account and computer access to read results? Would this be good for some one who doesn’t have a computer but is into genealogy?

  18. Arlina

Anyone know if this test shows MTHFR and can be plugged into Prometheus for detailed results? (Like 23&me)

    • Rel8ted

23andme has both options. Their ancestry kits are half off if you buy 2, buy the generic&DNA’s are still full price. Wanted that one for the same reason you do.
Ancestry kits are exactly what they say, nothing more.

    • Sophie

I was given the ancestry DNA kit as a gift last year. I was able to plug the results into Promethease to get medical info from my DNA. That only cost $5 and results are ready to download in a matter of minutes. Also, the Ancestry DNA results are accurate. My grandfather grew up in an orphanage. Through ancestry DNA matches, I found out about family we did not know he had. After finding out this info, searching census records and other public info supported all the matches that we found.

Can’t get links to open on iPhone

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! Maybe try requesting desktop view. Hope that helps!

  21. Josh

FYI – they have a disclaimer buried in their terms that says they own your DNA once you submit a sample. It can be sold to insurance companies to determine future coverage, shared with law enforcement, etc.

  22. LaVerne

I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. I know my Indian and African heritage, but would like to know everything else. Great deal! Thank you.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      You’re welcome!

  23. Viv

Is one kid only good for one person or one search?

  24. Lynn

For anyone interested in the 23andMe kit, it’s on sale today on Amazon for $99.99 (50% off).

  25. Victoria L Flanagan

what is Prometheus? How do you plug it in

  26. Blueyedturtlelover

I just wanted to say that I was not a believer in this whole DNA business. I thought it was totally random and no way could it be accurate. I was very surprised when I got my results back and got an alert for possible matches. Turns out this site was able to match me up to 3rd & 4th cousins on my mothers side. I knew it was accurate when my Great Grandmothers maiden name showed up as possible matches. There is no other way that they could have made that connection since my family tree was not yet built on their site. I am amazed that it was accurate! I am so glad my husband got me this as a gift for my birthday.
I also wanted to say that they have excellent customer service! My 87 yr old Grandma had problems with completing the test and they sent her a new one free of charge. They also gave very helpful tips on getting enough saliva to do the test. I am very happy we were able to get her results and add valuable info to our family tree!

Please consider using my referral link and we will both get $10. You should receive an additional $10 off this already low price! Any problems with the additional $10 just call customer service and they will apply it over the phone! Thanks so much!!

    Ebates.com 7.5% back of $59.00
Was charged 9.95 shipping to San Diego, CA
Paid 68.95 – awesome gift for my mom
    Thanks !!!

  28. Diana

Sent in my DNA with Ancestry, and when I received my results I was able to find out ethnicity as well as found my biological father who didn’t know I existed. His family is awesome and I have this huge extended family that welcomed me with open arms, and a huge tree of ancestors. It has been so wonderful!

  29. Tina T

Hey Collin, or Jennifer, or Amber,
Is the link in Blueyedturtlelovers post legitimate?

  30. Patricia Joy Spencer

How do I order a DNA kit for a Christmas gift?

  31. Donna Syma

I want this a gift for someone

  32. Amanda Hoffmann

Tried to get a kit sent to me over the phone after watching many ads for this sale of $59.99 on TV, and confirming the sale on their website. But sales person said no longer at this price., she checked with a lady supervisor named Dannie, a few times and she would make no exceptions for the sale price. I told her how many times I saw the ads on TV, Dannie still said no. I told her that I will tell everyone that I can about the shitty way I was treated, also told her this is FRAUD. Nothing I said could sway Dannie’s attitude to do the right thing. THIS IS A SCAM TO GET YOU TO PAY FULL PRICE. DO NOT BUY THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I’m so sorry to hear that you had such a poor experience. Thanks for the honest feedback!
