They look just like my daughter and son! Wish I had an extra $200 lying around lol!

American girl is made in China

    • Katherine

      And ???

      • Ms. Frizzle

AND you would be SURPRISED how many people don’t know that. I sent someone a Lea outfit on Facebook Marketplace and they accused me of sending them a knockoff because it said “Made in China”. I had to prove with my receipts that I got it from their store.

It’s already expensive if they made it here it’d cost $300 to buy.

    • Ashley

It has taken away from the quality for sure! When it was owned by Pleasant Co it was so much better and the price was justified. Such a shame it was sold to Mattel.

  3. Keri Burke

It’s ironic that it’s called American Girl and not made in the U.S.

Did my comment get deleted? I just wanted to know what pp is

    • Karen

      PP means Previous poster

      • M

        or PayPal

        • Karen

That too. The comment that PP was referred to was previous poster though 🙂 … it was deleted

Thanks! Weird, I didn’t see anything wrong with it. Hope we aren’t getting censored here. lol

I have collected since 1988. The earliest American Girl dolls for Pleasant Company were made by Gotz in Germany. The early clothes were made in Germany by the Gotz factory too.

    • Kathy

I wonder if people are/were bothered that they were made in Germany and not the US or is it just a ‘Made in China’ issue.

      • anna

Germany would mean good quality. China, not so much.

I still have all my pleasant co. ag dolls. They used to do events around the county too, and I remember dressing up for tea and bringing my Samantha doll. My parents where shocked when I wanted such an expensive toy so I saved and bought the first one myself with lemon-aid stand/raking leaves money. I’ve thought about buying my little an AG doll buy just going to give her mine when she’s big enough. The dolls bring nice memories.

I JUST BOUGHt this doll last week. Do you think they will price adjust?

    • Kathy

      I’m wondering the same thing!

    • Julie

Kohls will price adjust within 2 weeks. Otherwise return and rebuy. They have never stopped me from doing that when I’m over the 2 weeks

      • Julie

Just a quick update. I returned and rebought mine. No issues at all. The Tenney accessories were on sale too, so make sure you scan any that might be of interest 😊

        • Kimberly (Stylish Sidekick)

Thanks for the heads up, Julie!

  7. Karen

Is there a list of which stores are participating

  8. Lindsey

Can anyone confirm that the WellieWishers are on sale for $47 at Kohl’s?

  9. Kristina

Was so happy to score this deal today!! I had an extra $15 in rewards that I needed to use before 12/24 and I swore the cashier told me that I earned $30 in Kohl’s cash!?!? Going to look for my receipt to confirm this! Would be an even sweeter deal, if that is correct info!! Plus the Yes 2 You Rewards!!
