Wanting personal reviews on this! We are wanting to get rid of cable, but there are so many different options….where does this compare to the other devices?? We already have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon streaming, if that helps
We have LOVED DirectTV $35/mo, every cable network, crystal clear picture & no buffering. Now we tried Hulu, Sling & YouTubeTV before this & weren’t fans, lots of buffering & limited channels.
I bought this exact one in October, got rid of our cable bill. We are very happy, we have Hulu, vudu and Amazon. I like this one because no line of sight isn’t need for the remote.
Is this good to use instead of cable? Do you need internet so this can work?
Yes you need internet for this to work.
I highly recommend this over cable. I have amazon prime, Hulu and Netflix and its all way cheaper than cable!!
Plus you can Direct Tv now which is cheaper than cable.
Awesome to hear how much cheaper this has been for you than cable! Thanks a bunch for the helpful review!
We somehow ended up as cord cutters way back, when the first generation Roku came out, and we have loved our Roku (plus the newer ones we’ve bought since then). We stream Netflix and Hulu, plus Amazon prime. We have a Movies Anywhere account, so all our Disney and other movies with digital copies are there, and we stream that more often than actually getting out a blu-Ray! We check the internet rates a couple of times a year to make sure we are getting the best deal, and occasionally end up with free HBO or basic channels for less than regular internet prices (internet alone is often a little more than the discount they give when you are bundled). Even if you have cable, a Roku on an extra tv can be cheaper than an extra cable box, you just add the channels you want and use your cable sign in and you’re good to go.
How cool! Thanks for the great tips Lynn!
