This is picture of the beef stir fry my eleven year old daughter made us for dinner Sunday evening. She found the recipe in Food Network magazine, from a previous free subscription on Hip2Save. We bought the ingredients using a gift card I earned from Swagbucks, and submitted rebates to Checkout 51 and Ibotta for the fresh produce. She loves cooking and baking and this was by far her most adventurous attempt. It turned out amazing! I am so proud of her!

This is awesome. My 6 year old son is always wanting to help in the kitchen. I’m thinking about getting him kid friendly knives for his birthday. Anyone know of a set for kids?

Teach them young and hopefully it becomes a way of life. If she wants more practice, she can come cook for me any time!!☺

It’s def overcooked especially the rice, but it’s a nice and you gotta learn someday. It’s good that she is making these mistakes now vs 28 and calling her mom trying to figure out basic recipes. My bestie is 28 and cannot cook any of her favorite meals.

This is great! They have these baking championships on food network now with these young kids baking like pros! n its so inspiring! They’re doing things most adults can’t do! I know I can’t! N It inspires kids, which is great. My LO def loves it.

  20. Sandy

  21. mom2boys

Looks delish! My boys love to cook as well and even if it’s not perfect everytime it is so nice to have them doing it…plus each time it gets better!

    Yum!

  25. Lilianna

I’d eat it. Rice is tough to perfect, imo. The rest looks exactly right, for me. I’d eat the whole thing, no problem! Kudos to the daughter!
