This is a great deal, however, I have contacted Ortega and I hope many more will do the same. I take issue with Ortega calling these “Good Grains” when they are made with GMO corn and canola oil, and MSG (maltodextrin). I believe Ortega is trying to take advantage of consumers with misleading product names and “natural”-style packaging. Not cool, even if it is free with a coupon.
I’d be curious to know how they responded to your concern.
haha I’m curious too! When I buy junk food, I know it’s junk food! I hate it when junk food is marketed as healthy food!
They ALL do it. It makes shopping and cooking healthy so difficult.
Wow that’s crazy that companies still get away with doing that. Nothing good in gmo 😖
I wouldn’t eat these if they were free. taste terrible.
Trader Joe’s sells taco shells made with organic corn: no GMO’s. They are $1.99 near me in Albany , NY.
Thank you for this suggestion. I will look next time I’m at Trader Joe’s.
Yes, I was so excited about the Trader Joes ones, however only I got them home I realized they aren’t labeled Non-GMO. Yes, the corn they use is organic, but the vegetable and/or sunflower oil they fry them in isn’t. 🙁 I have been buying the Simple Truth ones (Kroger stores) and they are only a bit more if you want an actually organic crunchy shell.
