I work just a few minutes from the Christmas Tree Shops in S. Portland, Maine. I went there today during my lunch hour just to browse and I think my mouth fell open!! I have the target wire crates in both sizes Target sells them in and LOVE them! I also have the glasses from Walmart and they are nicer quality than expected. I bought them because they match the vintage looking salt and pepper shaker from there as well.

VERY pricey! I live in Waco, but don’t shop there bc I’m “too cheap” lol so alternatives are GREAT! Although I am going to the warehouse sale this Friday- that’s the only way to buy things from them

Yeah, I don’t get it either. In fact I’m amazed that people find the Magnolia brand attractive. The wholesome family aside, the styling seems boringly repetitive and predictable.
That’s so funny. I have always been a farmhouse-style-decorator and think it’s fun that things that I like are easier to buy now. I still prefer a flea market but it’s nice to take the easy route sometimes. To each her own!
Homegoods is also great to shop for farmhouse type stuff. They always have a ton of wire baskets, galvanized steel serveware, hens, etc. They are my go to spot for just about everything (Hobby Lobby is great as well, but Homegoods is my preferred place. It’s like an addiction lol).
I actually like the shelving from Walmart better than the shelving from Restoration Hardware !

Great post. I like reading price comparisons for stores I actually shop vs the ones I only dream of going to. LOL
I bought 2 chickens and a rooster 🐓 at Ross never had been there before , came out with the 3 of them but, I just put them in my garden -one lady had the rooster in her hand then I waited waited for her to make a decision she left with it – and I was devastated 🤣but when I went to pay she had left it by the register 🤔 so , now I have to keep a eye on them since there in the front yard – hopefully nobody takes them – love to go to grainier tx just love the quiet farm community

Unfortunately the clocks are not a good comparison, the pier 1 clock is huge, like 40 inch diameter, the hobby lobby clock is only an 18 inch diameter
Also not sure that the overall comparison on a lot of these is really apples-to-apples either. I can’t really see a Walmart shelf being on par with the quality found at RH…
Check flea markets and estate sales! Plus it’s authentic patina!
