This Rockin’ JBL Speaker Motivates Me to Cook, Clean, Workout & Relax

If you’re a music lover, you know that many things you do in life, whether it’s house chores, working out OR simply just relaxing – are always better with music! 🎶 Rockin’ out to tunes definitely pushes me to be more productive and have way more FUN in the process!
Know the feeling you have when your favorite song comes on? You may notice your body stand up straighter, start to wiggle, possibly get a big grin on your face and you may just have to bust a move! Depending on where you are, that is.
The reason for that is the release of dopamine in the brain (yep, that pleasure chemical kicking in). I LOVE getting high on dopamine and being productive! 😉
So for this ‘Try this Tuesday’, I decided to let loose a bit with my dance moves, and share what I love about my JBL speaker!
I bought this JBL Charge 3 Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker about 2 years ago, and boy do I love it! It actually wasn’t my idea. I didn’t want to spend OVER $100 on a stinkin’ speaker by any means. I am more of the ‘let’s buy a $10 speaker kinda gal’, BUT my husband insisted that this speaker was a necessity for our family and home.
Surprisingly, it was a great idea. I love this speaker for many reasons and I use it all the time!
For one, I love it because it’s easy to use! You simply turn the bluetooth notification ON on your smart phone, turn the speaker on and connect whatever music app you use – I just connect Pandora and listen to 90’s, 2000’s & Today’s Hits radio. That’s my favorite!
As a family, we take this speaker to the pool often – yes, even with my two toddlers because guess what?! It’s waterproof! …And it’s portable, so it can just be tossed in a bag and go anywhere with us. It is a vacation necessity!
And like I mentioned above, it helps motivate me to do household chores! I love to blast good 80’s or 90’s music while I am cleaning or working out! This JBL can go super loud or super soft and the clarity on it is amazing!
I also LOVE having it on while cooking, getting dressed, playing cards, relaxing, swimming… I use this JBL SO much!
And one other thing! It comes in handy for the kiddos too…
Getting the kids to clean the toy room was by far my least favorite thing to do since 0.0001% of the time they would actually be cleaning.
Needless to say, we have to make it fun over here to get the job done! Now when it is time for clean up, we simply pull up YouTube Kids on our phone, connect the JBL speaker to a phone and play fun clean up songs like ‘Clean Up, Clean Up’ for the kids. Loudly. They LOVE it and know whenever the speaker is playing these types of songs, it’s time to clean up!
It’s like they’re programmed. It works. And it rocks!

I will have to look at these speakers! I don’t love mine right now. And music is SUCH a good motivator & mood lifter in this house, we’re a huge music family. Sometimes I will get in a funk & realized we haven’t listened to anything in days?! Turn it on, instantly better. We do a lot of karaoke in this house too lol.

Thanks for the post. I LOVE LOVE LOVE music, audiobooks, and podcasts and have concluded that the el cheapo speakers I’ve bought in the past just don’t cut it. I had been wondering about the merits of buying a higher priced speaker and I’m glad to know there are some out there worth looking in to. You guys rock.
I just returned my JBL Extreme yesterday. I bought it during the Black Friday sale. I was having some technical difficulty with the battery, that my husband said may require him to unscrew the back case and insert a new one for it. It’s barely two months old! So I had to return it. I wonder if the smaller JBL is better than the Extreme? I do love the quality of sound on this brand.
Oh bummer – so sorry to hear that you had to return it. 🙁 I have not had any issues like that with ours!

I love the site, and the work you guys do to save people money. But this article is so much a promotional piece that, honestly, it rubbed me wrong.
If it was a comparison of different speakers with pros and cons for each, I’d get it. But not advertisement of a particular piece, per se.
I am not convinced it goes with the spirit of this site.

Also she points out different models & price points so I think this is a very appropriate post & do a exactly what it’s supposed to do which is share the specific reasons why they love a particular item.

Hah, I’m rocking out with a $10 model from Best Buy. Not in love with the sound quality on mine, would love to know how the two compare.
I love my JBL Flip 4 portable speaker!! I listen to podcasts while in the shower and I could BARELY hear them with my old speaker. My boyfriend got me the Flip 4 for Christmas from the advice of one of his friends and he made the right choice! The sound is clear & crisp all around (in & out the shower) & it’s so lightweight to carry around everywhere. Another plus (for me anyway) is that it is rechargeable through a USB port and the charge last for a good amount of time. Price is an understandable issue, but it is worth it for quality. I may be sticking to JBL from now on because I truly hear the quality of the product!

I have the exact same speaker! I love it. I am taking it all around the house with me today as well as I meal prep and do laundry. I also take it out to the tennis courts when my mom friends and I play. My friend has two of them by her pool. My kids want it in their room when they clean it. Your post could be my story! How funny!

These are awesome. You can have more than one wireless connected to each other. So you can have it set up on the patio for a “surround sound” effect without having to worry about the rain or cords hanging everywhere. There’s also a usb port so you can charge your devices right off of it. Great product!

Nice! I also blast 80s and 90s music when I’m cleaning or working out!! My kids hate it, so they make me use my ear buds😂😂😂 but whenever they’re not home, you best believe I got my speaker out. I don’t have this model but I do have a smaller one. Great brand and Works great!!

I got the flip 3 at christmas and it is so much louder and clearer than the music thru our phones-we love ours too! Life is better with music!
I got the Flip 4 just before Thanksgiving and it is amazing! I love it and have had no issues with it. I would say it is definitely lighter than the Charge, which I also looked at.
