I have one of these and while they do the job of making a cup of coffee, they are hard to clean and slow. I don’t recommend this.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! We sure appreciate hearing your experience with this brewer! Sorry to hear they can be difficult to clean!

We love our keurig (it was a larger model), but it died after 14mo. We just ordered our 2nd one from amazon, you pay a bit more, but you can tack on a 4yr warranty for around $10.

    • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Nice tip about the warranty! Thanks, Danielle!

I still have my original keurig brewer from 7+ years ago. You have to use filtered water for them or they get clogged like mine did at one point. I cleaned mine with vinegar and it started working again. If you want super fast brewing then Nespresso is the way to go. Definitely more expensive but you get what you pay for.

My sisters and sisters in law love their nespresso! One buys her pods from Walmart think she has the inissa ( espresso machine). My sister buys hers from nespresso or bed bath and beyond. About 50 cents a cup

Oh wow! Thanks for the helpful tips Beth! I will have to pass some of these along to my sister as she has been looking for a way to clean hers!

For those who feel that their keurig only lasts a few months to a couple of years, I invested in an officepro k145. It’s meant for more rugged use. I thought that since it was made to withstand more, then it should have more longevity in a home setting. It’s been great so far. I paid about $100 for it few years ago, comes with 3 size options, a 48oz tank, and heavy duty cord. There’s also a drain option. Easy to use, easy to clean. No complaints. I use it 2-3 times a day.

    • Mamamia

Oh and it brews in under a minute.

I bought my k-55 model about 2 years ago and the few months ago it stopped working. Thankfully I bought it from Kohl’s and was able to take it back and they told me to grab a brand new one.

I’ve gone through 2 of this model since August. Both times the power just stopped working. Their customer service is amazing though and sent out a new machine each time. After the 2nd time, they sent me the larger version and it’s been fine. I wouldn’t recommend this model.

Great to hear how helpful customer service has been each time your machine has had an issue. Thanks a bunch for the honest review on this model!

I have this and after 3 years it’s still doing its job. I use it daily in the morning and on occasion in the afternoon for hot water for tea. My only complaint is you can’t fit a tall tumbler under it…even when removing the “plate” and pull-tray. So I usually use a 2+ measuring cup and then pour the contents into the tumbler. I normally run the k-cup thru 2 brew cycles. I don’t care for the strong coffee taste, but love the caffeine effect. After brewing, I also add skim milk and flavored skinny syrup…so I def need a big cup/tall tumbler! This model also takes up less room on the counter and you add fresh water each time which I like as well.☕🍵

Dont throw away your Keurig if its stopped working. Over time those machines gets calcium build up from hard water and slow down the flow or quit pumping the water all together. Mine had the same problem. So instead of water i put vinegar in reservoir and tried to run the Keurig several times, also let it sit for a night and next day tried it again . and it cleared all the build up calcium out. Just damp the vinegar out and process several times with water till you get vinegar taste/smell out. , Works like new for me.

These pods are so wasteful. The man who invented the Keurig wishes he hadn’t because of all the pods that end up in the landfilled and don’t get recycled.

I tried to purchase this item today and it appears that Kohl’s has changed the sale price to $99.99 rather than $79.99…so bummed!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! Thanks for the heads up! I am finding the sale price up now as well. 🙁
