I did this promotion back in November so I can give some feedback. The promotion is for accounts that are on the unlimited plan $40 per phone/per month. I purchased two iPhone 8’s and had to pay the taxes upfront on both phones. I added the payment to my account for both phones in the meantime. The rebate was simple and was done online. I just got my rebate a week ago so it took around 8 to 10 weeks weeks. The rebate was in form of a master card so I went into a local T-Mobile store and had them apply the $700 master card to my account since I wanted one of my phones paid off. Taxes on two phones plus the $700 phone I probably paid around $820 for both phones. Not bad for two iPhones. I didn’t have any problems with my rebate but keep in mind it does take a couple months to receive. It was a great deal for me!

May I ask what they charge per month to pay that off? I’m sharing an account with my brother and we would both like new phones

        Hi Rebecca,

The two phones I purchased were $700 each. My payment is $29.17 per month, per phone (x 24 months). You pay the taxes upfront and finance the phone. If you do the buy 1 get 1 free offer. You would have $29.17 x 2 until you received your rebate master card to pay the one phone off.

I called and read the fine print and it looks like for this offer you have to bring over a number from another carrier. If anyone has done otherwise for this offer please advise.

Just about every phone carrier has this same deal.

As mentioned above, this only works only for customers on the more expensive unlimited plan. Didn’t work for me on the cheaper plan and wasn’t worth upgrading to the unlimited plan.

I have been with T-Mobile for over 10 years. I am on the simple choice plan which is one of the cheaper/older plans. When I inquired about the buy 1 get 1 promotion I was told I would need to upgrade my plan to the unlimited plan. I told them I wasn’t interested because I didn’t want my bill to increase. They came back with I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and they would let me change back to my original plan after I received my prepaid mc rebate. I was hesitant about doing it but they did indeed switch me back to my original plan after I received my check. I had to call cs to switch back and the previous cs rep did leave notes I was allowed to switch back to my original plan. It might determine how long you have been with them but it might be worth a try. The only downfall was I did have to pay the higher rate for 3 months until the rebate went through. Might be worth s try if you have been with T-Mobile for a while.

Also, right now they have 4 lines for the price of 3 for the unlimited plan. So $140 for 4 lines including tax and a Netflix subscription.

We had to trade in one telephone for this promotion. But not every telephone qualifies for trade in.

  6. Dee

The rep in store told me this is for new customers only, or if you add a new line. We already have 3 lines but need a new phone bad! Anyone know?

Talked to 2 py today 1 was a supervisor (Miguel) he said their was never a order placed n I did not qualify for that promo I said I have been with t mobile for 17 years So your saying if I left T-Mobile n went with another carrier that s the Only way I can get that deal He said Yes can you please explain why every time I call T-Mobile I am promised 1 thing n then someone else says Sorry! You don’t qualify

I called up TMobile about the buy 1 get 1 offer and was told so many different things. Fists rep. Told me u had to trade in my old phone, which I did not wan to do. Another rep said I had to give them my checking account info to set up monthly automatic payments. Which I refuse to do. I had done this before with Verizon and was constantly overcharged for something or another. These phone carriers are getting worst by the minute. All they see is your money. They don’t care about anything else.
It’s too bad that we are so connected to our cellular devices, because I would say drop the cellphone but unfortunately we cannot. So I say learn about the laws. Check out the bills being passed on cellular companies. This is where we need them to begin. We need strong governing over these companies. I am sick and tired of all the trickery and false advertising.
