These toys are definitely not for dogs that like to chew. Mine destroyed one in mere minutes with little effort.

oh wow! Thanks for the heads up, Heather!

Any suggestions for a toy for dogs that like to chew?? We just rescued a pit mix and she is the sweetest thing, but likes to chew

Chuck it balls are really good. I had a Boston terrier that would bite down on tennis balls and pop them then chew them up. The chuck it balls lasted forever. Only one she tore up was one with squeaker in it. They have one that whistles when you throw it too. I usually just bought the regular ones though. she would panic when we couldn’t find her ball so we always kept several on hand.

The nerf dog frisbee with hole in center is good too. Our dog doesn’t really chew on it but is rough with frisbees and usually busts them.

The Nerf dog frisbee with the hole was the best! Ours was lost at some point, and I’ve had trouble finding a replacement. It won’t hold up to much chewing, but was good for tugging with other dogs at the dog park.

I’d recommend elk antlers (the Jim Hodges antlers on Amazon are the best), Gorilla Chews (big hunks of wood), water buffalo horns (look for one that is not splintered), and Kongs with frozen canned dog food or peanut butter in them. These are the things that tend to last the longest! My chewer really likes the squeaky Kong tennis balls, too.

My pit/lab mix loves the power chew nylabones. She has yet to break them and she can get a golf ball and with a few chews has broke it in half so they are sturdy and heavy. We also have the kong ball where you can put peanut butter in it for them to lick but she has chewed the ends off of that. Hope this helps.

I foster puppies so this is perfect, I’m always looking for cheap/decently priced toys that I can use for there short-term placement with me. My new puppy is going to have fun with this! Thanks!

Oh how sweet! You’re so welcome! Glad your new puppy will enjoy it!
