Informally hate Hershey chocolate but this gold bar is amazing!

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

SWEET! Awesome you have enjoyed this one Britt! My family likes it too!

    • Garfield

      Agree 100%!

This is Sooooo goood! This was the free Friday load from Kroger/Dillons last Friday.

Willing to try for the price. I’m an old school chocolate junkie, so I look at Hershey’s push on this bar with a side eye. Feels like they’re trying to get people into it since chocolate is predicted to be at a shortage soon due to cocoa bean supply issues from climate change.

    Verdict’s out for me!

It’s supposed to be something special for the Olympics, plus there are some of us in the world who either hate chocolate or are allergic! So if you don’t care for it, leave it for the rest of us 😊 ill take as many as I can get for cheap/free

These are fantastic and very addictive. I loaded the coupon and will be going to Walgreens to get more.

Love Hershey’s but these taste like wax to me. Give me a chocolate almond bar any time

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn! Sorry to hear you did not care for them! Thanks for the honest comment!

Was anyone able to redeem the free bar coupons anywhere? I tried so many stores and I was denied because it always beeps and they wouldn’t adjust it because it says $1.50 off 1, not free.

They worked at Safeway for me. Also, CVS had the small ones last week 2/$3, and the first one rang up at $1.79 so they were $.29 each. Last week my Lucky’s also had the XL Gold Bars for $1.50 each. Not everyone has these though, so if you find someone that has them at $1.50 get them since I don’t know if they will be around after the Olympics is over and they are sold out.

Last Sunday at Target that bar was on sale for 89 cents and they scanned my 1.50 coupon without problem but no overage. So the sale is still good this week. I still prefer chocolate since I do not care for peanut flavor.

Was so excited to try this but ended up not liking it 😞 No one in the family did either.

They are “meh”….not horrible, but not the first thing I would actually pay money for! I’d rather have the regular Milk and Dark Chocolate ones instead…..which is why I’m wondering if they will only have this out for a limited time.

      • Cleob

This is actually how I feel about it. I much prefer a Hersheys chocolate bar.

Love these candy bars. Didnt come up when I searched Gold but popped right up when I searched Hersheys.

  9. Mel

My first impression was meh as well.. I’m more of a dark chocolate fan. Decided to melt a bar (over a double broiler) and drizzled it over popcorn for the Walking Dead marathon the other night.. OMGGGGG it was sooo good!! My son wants to make smores with them, so this is a perfect deal to get them cheap. Another idea I just thought of is to chop into smaller pieces for an ‘everything goes’ type cookie.

My husband loves these. I didn’t. Since we all have Walgreens accounts in the house, I plan on doing this deal 4 times. I promised to hide the rest of them since he likes them so much.
