Would it mostly be Valentine’s Day stuff in the bags?
If anyone here has bought one recently, what did you get? $4 isn’t bad but I don’t want to make the trip out there in the first place if there’s little chance I’ll like it or have use for it.

It is mostly Valentine’s..i got 5 wreaths, lots.of rubber stamps, craft kits, goody bags for treats, silicone candy molds.

    • Belle

Only 1 out of my 4 boxes were actually Valentine’s day stuff!

Just curious… I’ve never bought one but I feel like you wouldn’t open them to see what’s inside… that’s the whole point right? The one time I saw them in store a lady had three boxes open that she was digging into. I was curious if that’s what people do

I don’t believe your supposed to open the bags. I’ve never tried but am pretty sure it’s not allowed. I used to get a couple at a time but now that they’re $4 I only buy one and mostly because my teenager loves the suspense. Whatever I get that I don’t want I donate to my kids school. It mostly is artsy stuff.

The stores I go to will not let you go through the bags or boxes. I used to always buy these, but lately there is a lot of junk in them. They used to be $2. and they had arts and craft supplies and home decor items. Now they are very seasonal, so you may get things like the picture above with Valentine’s Day leftovers.

  4. Karen

These do tend to be mostly seasonal items that have went 70 or 80% off and haven’t sold. People are not suppose to look through them but often times you can sorta see what’s in them

Ours is in plastic wHite bags, some tied, some tied & stapled (lol). Bags are somewhat transparent & u can see some stuff. I usually take a good look before buying.

My store had them at the end of summer. We bought a total of 4 (3 for us and 1 for my niece). Lots of 4th of July/ BBQ décor items, tons of washi tape (probably close to 50 rolls) and some floral items. Great deal for the price.

    • Belle

Wow! Hoping someday I’ll get that lucky with all that washi! 🙂

Our store puts them in brown paper bags so I try to go for heft. I have found some good items, Funko Figures, ribbon, cookie decorations, and inserts for memory books.

    • Belle

Also tried to go for heft, but afterwards found out that lots of the weight was due to big wooden letter blocks (ruh roh) x(

Got 4 boxes! Only 1 of them was actually Vday stuff. I really loved some some of my boxes, the wooden blocks were meh but I can give them away or donate what I won’t use!

Box 1 – masquarade masks, cookie cutters, floral stems, chalkboard, letter marquees, notepad, watercolor sets, remote control dinosaur toy, watercolor palette, DIY puzzles, and origami garland kit.

Box 2 – sleep masks, tissues, nail file, Dylan’s Candy shop stationary items, wood postcard, notepads, scrapbooks, bookend set, LOTS of wooden block letters (heavy)

Box 3 – silicon treat mold, plush toy dogs and bears, window clings, heart treat clamshells, heart tin, heart table decor, small heart sequin ornaments, paper heart ornaments, cookie cutters, and TONS OF BOXES OF VALENTINE’S — probably will try giving these away!

Box 4 – scrapbooks, flag decor, notepads, 2017-2018 planners, tissues, Dylan’s Candy shop stationary, more wooden letter blocks (ugh)

I love these boxes/ grab bags whatever I don’t need I end up making gifts for people throughout the year .

Got 2 boxes. They were almost entirely valentine’s day stuff and were almost identical. It’s the first time I wasn’t really excited by anything in a box. The best item was a couple of tin buckets, I can re-purpose.

After Halloween time, I got a grab box full of black flowers/stems. I laughed so hard. Maybe if someone has an “Over the Hill” party, I will be all set.

  12. Brendala

I bought 1 today. All boxes available were pretty light. They seemed about half full. Mine had 2 boxes of valentine cards, roll of ribbon. Valentine balloon, stickers, foam ornament kit and the best thing was set of 3 cosmetic bags.

How do you know if your area does the grab bags? Will they tell you if you call the stores or no? I would LOVE to buy some of these!! Any info would be helpful!! Thank you in advance!! ☺

    • Belle

I usually call and they let you know!
